The building itself is part of the Viceroy Residences complex, which means you’re staying in what’s essentially a high-end residential tower that happens to rent out units to travelers. I actually prefer this setup because you get apartment-style accommodations with hotel services, plus the locals living there keep the standards pretty high. The units I’ve seen are spacious – way more room than your typical hotel – and most have these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you decent views of either the city or the golf course nearby. You know what surprised me most? How quiet it is at night, considering you’re still technically in Metro Manila. McKinley Hill has this bubble effect where the usual urban noise just doesn’t penetrate.

Getting around from here is actually pretty straightforward once you figure out the shuttle system. There’s a free shuttle that runs to different parts of BGC, which saves you from dealing with parking in Bonifacio Global City – trust me, you don’t want that headache. The Venice Grand Canal Mall is maybe a 10-minute walk away, and that’s where you’ll find most of your dining and shopping options. I mean, it’s not the most authentic Filipino experience with all those international chains, but sometimes you just want familiar food and decent coffee. The staff at the property tends to be helpful with directions and recommendations, though like most serviced residences, don’t expect the same level of hand-holding you’d get at a traditional hotel. What you do get is flexibility – kitchenettes in most units, laundry facilities, and that residential vibe where you can actually settle in for a few days without feeling like you’re camping out in a hotel room. For the price point and location, especially if you’re doing business in BGC or just want a modern, relatively peaceful base in Manila, it works really well.
