You know what really surprised me about Asteria Lovely Staycation? It’s tucked away on San Pedro Street in this quiet corner of San Isidro, and honestly, I almost missed it the first time – but that’s actually part of its charm. The location puts you right in the heart of Paranaque without all the chaos you’d expect from Metro Manila. I mean, you’re still close enough to everything that matters, but there’s this surprisingly peaceful vibe once you’re inside the property.

The four-star rating definitely shows, especially in the attention to detail that most places in this price range just skip over. The rooms have this clean, modern aesthetic that doesn’t try too hard to be trendy – which I appreciate because trendy gets old fast. What really got me was how quiet it stays, even with the Sucat Road proximity. They’ve clearly thought about soundproofing, and the staff actually seems to know what they’re doing rather than just going through the motions. The Wi-Fi works properly (always a gamble in this area), and the air conditioning keeps up with Manila’s humidity without sounding like a jet engine all night.

Here’s the thing though – and this is where that 9.4 rating makes total sense – it’s the little touches that set this place apart from other staycation spots around Paranaque. The housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, parking is actually available (not always guaranteed in this neighborhood), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I’ve stayed at supposedly higher-end places that couldn’t nail these basics. The breakfast spread isn’t trying to be everything to everyone, but what they do have is done well. Plus, you’re positioned perfectly if you need to get to Alabang or even down south – the access roads don’t turn into parking lots until later in the morning. It’s one of those places where you can actually relax without feeling like you’re missing out on being in the city, which is honestly harder to find than you’d think around Metro Manila.
