Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Awesome Value, Great Location, I rolled my eyes a little. I mean, come on, right? But after spending a few nights at this four-star place in the Air Residences building, I actually get why they went with such a straightforward name. Sometimes the most obvious choice is just… true.

The thing about staying in Makati is that you’re basically in the heart of Metro Manila’s business district, which sounds all corporate and boring until you realize what that actually means for your day-to-day experience. You’re walking distance from Greenbelt and Glorietta – and I’m talking like a genuine five-minute stroll, not that “short walk” hotels usually promise that turns into a 20-minute trek in humid weather. The MRT station is right there too, so getting around the city becomes this surprisingly easy thing instead of the usual Manila traffic nightmare. I spent way less on Grab rides than I budgeted for, which was honestly refreshing.

The hotel itself sits in this modern residential tower, and you know what struck me first? How quiet it gets once you’re up in your room. Makati can be pretty intense street-level with all the construction and traffic, but the building does a solid job of keeping that chaos where it belongs – down there, not in your space. The rooms have this clean, unfussy vibe that I actually preferred over some of the flashier places I’ve stayed. Nothing felt overdone or trying too hard, just comfortable furniture and really good air conditioning (which, let’s be real, is half the battle in the Philippines). The staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood well too – when I asked about finding good sisig nearby, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the mall food courts but actually recommended this local spot on Kalayaan Avenue that turned out to be fantastic. That 9.4 rating makes sense when you experience little touches like that. It’s not revolutionary or Instagram-perfect, but sometimes you just want a place that works exactly like it should, you know? Especially when you’re trying to balance seeing the city with not completely exhausting yourself in the process.

  The view was really amazing from the 37th floor for this unit. The bed was really soft and comfortable giving a good night rest. Anything you may need is walking distance (good restaurants, minimart, mall).

  Krystel is a very nice and attentive host. She makes sure that everything is well and we are taken care of. If we have questions, she is always there to assist us. The room is very clean and what we need is already there. Hot and cold showers are also available, The Bedroom Bed is very neat and nice.
  Restaurants are every where it is always at your reach, which is very convenient to us, Banks are near as well. People are so nice and polite. Will definitely recommend her place to stay.
  
  What could be improved: Not that much, there always things to improve, but I love her place to stay. Will definitely book her apartment.

  What I like most is the convenience of this place and how accessible it is with all my itinerary. I love the fact that there are shops, supermarkets, restaurants within the building and neighboring The Rise. Nice aesthetic of the unit too and very clean. There are kitchen stuff too that you can use if you fancy cooking using the convection oven. Will definitely book next time again.
