I stumbled onto this place during a work trip to Manila last year, and honestly, it turned out to be one of those happy accidents that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

The location on Mayflower Street puts you right in the heart of things without the crazy noise levels you’d expect. Fame Residences is this solid mid-rise building that doesn’t look like much from the street, but once you’re up there – man, the pool view from that balcony is something else. I spent way too many evenings out there with a San Miguel, watching people swim laps below while the city hummed in the background. The four-star rating feels about right, though the building itself has that slightly worn-around-the-edges feel that a lot of Manila properties have – nothing major, just the kind of honest aging that comes with tropical humidity and constant use.

What really sold me on the place was the little details that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. The Netflix setup works flawlessly (huge win after dealing with sketchy wifi elsewhere), and they’ve got this great little kitchen setup that’s perfect for grabbing groceries from the SM mall nearby instead of eating out every meal. The air conditioning is powerful enough to actually cool the place down – trust me, that’s not always a given in this city. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra two days because, well, why mess with a good thing? The building’s security is pretty tight without being annoying about it, and there’s decent parking if you’re brave enough to drive in Manila traffic (I wasn’t, but good to know). The only minor thing I’d mention is that the elevators can be a bit slow during peak hours when everyone’s heading to or from the pool, but honestly, that just gave me more time to chat with other residents who turned out to be a mix of long-term expats and Filipino families. Sometimes those unplanned conversations end up being the best part of traveling, you know?

Early hotels booking in Manila requires advance planning during peak tourist seasons when visitors flock to enjoy the city’s historic sites, modern shopping centers, and Filipino cultural attractions.

  love how miss nimfa is super accommodating! highlhighly suggest that if you want to swim during the weekends, and you'll stay also start of a weekend, coordinate right away with Miss Nimfa about it since admin office for pool ticket is closed during weekends.

  Location and owners are very nice.. the room is comfortable and there are many tools and devices to make stay comfortable… Owners are helpful to easy to contact them..
  
  What could be improved: No problem if you are alone or you have permanent accompany.. But it is long and hard process to check in a guest.. The residance management has many procedure for even simple check in.. I hope soon a new simple policy …

  The unit has everything that we needed, from pots to cutleries to rice cooker. Also, the location was perfect! It is close to everything: malls, coffee shop, grocery store, pastry shops, restaurants, and more. We enjoyed walking around the area plus the mall/ supermarket next to the units was a big help especially when we needed to get some necessary items for our baby. Overall, a great place to stay!!😀

  Easy check-in and check out process by the help of Host and concierge of residance .. Location is close to shaw mrt and megamall.. also many restaurants and markets in the Zone .. there are enough basic stuffs to live comfortable and cooking.. .. also it was nice to find simple Complimentary welcome offerings..
