You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Makati apartment – Lush Residences when I first pulled up to the corner of Bagtikan and Kamagong – honestly, the name made it sound like just another serviced apartment block. But this four-star place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has this clean, modern look that fits right into the San Antonio neighborhood without trying too hard to be flashy. What really got me was how quiet it felt once you’re inside, which is saying something considering you’re smack in the middle of Makati’s hustle.

The apartment I stayed in had this lived-in comfort that you don’t usually get with hotel rooms – I mean, there’s an actual kitchen where you can make proper coffee in the morning, not just those tiny hotel kettles. The living space flows really well, and I found myself actually hanging out there in the evenings instead of just crashing on the bed like I usually do when traveling. The bathroom’s got good water pressure (trust me, this matters in Manila), and the air conditioning works like a dream, which you’ll definitely appreciate during those sticky afternoon hours. I actually loved that the windows open – seems obvious, but so many places here seal you in completely. From the upper floors, you get these nice glimpses of the city without feeling like you’re in a fishbowl.

What sold me on this place though was the location – and I don’t mean that in the generic “convenient location” way everyone throws around. Being in San Antonio puts you close enough to the Makati business district that you can walk or take a quick ride to places like Ayala Avenue, but you’re not dealing with the constant traffic noise and chaos of the main drags. There’s this local market just a few blocks away where you can grab fresh fruit and snacks without the tourist markup, and the jeepney routes from here actually make sense if you want to explore other parts of Makati or head toward BGC. I ended up walking to several restaurants and cafes that I never would have found if I’d stayed in one of those big hotels in the Ayala Triangle. The staff here gets it too – they’re helpful without being pushy, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the standard tourist spots. For the price point and that 9.1 rating, I can see why people keep coming back to this one.

  I love the location as it was very to near the establishments we wanted to go to. The kitchen was also more than enough for us both. They provided us with a lot of kitchenware, bathroom items, and lots of towels.

  The room had everything you might need to have a pleasant stay. It was nicely located, really clean and the staff was friendly.
  Additionally, just outside the building, there is a minimarket, an ATM and a Laundry so there isn't anything to worry about during the stay.
  Finally, I consider the price ad hoc to what you get, but booking breakfast is a must especially if arrival time is late at night.

  The unit was clean, cozy and the design was well-thought of– it's not cluttered or stuffy.
  I appreciate how the host went the extra mile to make each guest's stay comfortable and memorable. They provided not only complimentary bottled water (6 bottles!) but also espresso, teabags and chocolates. Netflix? Try disney+,hbo go and prime video– all access. Groceries, restaurants and cafes are nearby, though cooking is possible in the unit and basic condiments are provided.
  Perfect place for a staycation.
