The casino’s right there if that’s your thing (and honestly, even if it’s not, it’s worth walking through just to people-watch), but the hotel itself feels surprisingly peaceful. My room was on the 18th floor, and the view over Manila Bay at sunset was… well, let’s just say I ended up ordering room service just so I wouldn’t have to leave. The beds are those proper Marriott cloud-like situations – you know the ones where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re drowning in foam.

Here’s what I really appreciate about this five-star spot though – the staff actually remembers your name after day one, and not in that forced, corporate way. There’s this genuine warmth that feels very Filipino, if that makes sense. The pool area gets busy around 3 PM with families, but if you go early morning or after 6 PM, it’s pretty serene. And can we talk about the breakfast buffet for a second? They do this thing with fresh tropical fruits that’s just… *chef’s kiss*. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can get a bit sluggish during peak hours, but honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise when you’re trying to unwind. The shopping at Newport Mall is literally connected, which saved me when I realized I’d forgotten to pack enough shirts. Plus, getting to and from NAIA Terminal 3 takes maybe 10 minutes on a good day – though with Manila traffic, “good day” is doing some heavy lifting there. Bottom line: if you want that luxury hotel experience without feeling like you’re in some sterile business hotel, this place gets it right.
