I’ll be honest, when I first booked the Modern 1BD Executive Suite, Netflix Wifi Pool Gym on Bank Drive, I wasn’t expecting much from what sounded like a pretty generic name. But you know what? This four-star spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location puts you right in the heart of Manila’s business district, and I mean literally – you’re walking distance to some serious corporate towers, but also close enough to grab amazing street food without dealing with the nightmare traffic that usually comes with crossing the city.

The suite itself feels way more spacious than most Manila accommodations I’ve stayed in, and trust me, I’ve tried quite a few over the years. The bedroom actually has room to spread out your stuff (revolutionary concept, I know), and the living area doesn’t feel like an afterthought. What really got me though was how they’ve set up the Netflix situation – it’s properly integrated into a decent-sized TV, not some janky browser setup that takes forever to load. The wifi actually delivers on its promise too, which honestly shocked me given how hit-or-miss internet can be in some Manila hotels. I was pulling down solid speeds even during peak evening hours when everyone’s presumably streaming.

The pool area becomes this little oasis once you’re tired of the city chaos outside. It’s not huge, but it’s clean and surprisingly quiet considering you’re surrounded by urban madness. The gym is pretty well-equipped too – not just a couple of sad treadmills like some places try to pass off. I actually used it a few mornings, and they’ve got proper weights and machines that aren’t falling apart. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Makati for a meeting, they didn’t just point me toward a taxi – they actually explained the best times to travel and suggested specific routes to avoid getting stuck in traffic for hours. The building itself has that modern Manila vibe without being sterile, if that makes sense. You’ve got good security (which matters more than some people realize), and the elevators actually work consistently. I stayed during a pretty busy period and never felt like the place was overwhelmed or understaffed. Check-in was smooth, housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive, and honestly, for the price point, you’re getting solid value in a city where hotel costs can get pretty wild pretty fast.
