I’ll be honest, when I first heard about The Cozy Palette Manila being tucked away on the 10th floor of SMDC Shine Residences in Pasig, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones hiding in plain sight. This four-star spot has completely changed how I think about boutique accommodations in Metro Manila.

The moment you step out of that elevator, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s honestly hard to find in Manila. The design lives up to its name – there’s this thoughtful use of color and texture that feels more like staying in a well-curated art space than your typical hotel room. I mean, the attention to detail is pretty impressive for what’s essentially a residential building conversion. The rooms have these floor-to-ceiling windows that give you solid views of the Pasig cityscape, and if you’re lucky enough to snag a unit facing east, the morning light is absolutely gorgeous. What really got me though was how quiet it stays up there – you’d never guess you’re in the middle of one of the busiest metro areas in the Philippines.

Location-wise, it’s actually brilliant if you know the area. You’re right in the heart of Pasig’s business district, so places like Eastwood City and the Ortigas CBD are practically next door. The SM Megamall crowd is maybe a 10-minute ride away, but here’s the thing locals know – the real gem is being so close to all these amazing Filipino restaurants along C5 that most tourists never discover. Parking isn’t a nightmare like it can be in other parts of the metro, which honestly makes a huge difference when you’re trying to get around. The building itself has decent security (they actually check IDs, which I appreciate), and the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re comfortable. I’ve stayed here three times now, and they remember little preferences, which is rare these days. The 8.8 rating makes complete sense once you experience how they handle the small things – like actually having reliable wifi that doesn’t cut out during video calls, or keeping the common areas spotless without being obsessive about it. Sure, it’s not going to give you that grand hotel lobby experience, but if you’re looking for something that feels more authentic and personal in Manila, this place gets it right.

  We stayed from Aug 4-7. Communication with the owner was smooth and very accommodating. It was a good location since it's near the mall.
  Our stay was fine.
  
  What could be improved: Almost everything was provided, though we weren't able to maximize the TV because it was not turning on during our stay. We planned to cook as well since it's a 4 day stay but there's no stove. But rice cooker and air fryer were available so it suffice. The sockets are not also for all type so we had to buy universal adaptors to be able to plug. Overall stay was fine.
