The Florence at McKinley Hill Overview
First Impressions
Walking into The Florence at McKinley Hill, you immediately get that “this is going to be good” feeling. The lobby has this modern Filipino elegance thing going on — not too flashy, but definitely polished. What struck me most was how the staff actually seemed happy to see guests arrive, which honestly isn’t always a given at four-star properties. The whole place feels like it was designed by people who actually travel themselves, you know?
Location & Neighborhood
McKinley Hill is one of those areas in Taguig that’s sort of become the new business district without losing its residential charm. You’re close enough to Bonifacio Global City that you can walk there if you’re feeling energetic, but far enough away that you don’t deal with all the BGC chaos. The couples rating this location a perfect 10 makes total sense — there are some really nice walking paths around the area, and the Venice Grand Canal Mall is literally right there when you want to grab dinner or just wander around.
The Room Experience
My room was on the 15th floor, and I mean, that view of the Manila skyline at sunset was pretty spectacular. The space itself is well thought out — there’s actually enough storage for longer stays, and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that hotel back ache, and the air conditioning was quiet, which is crucial in Manila’s heat. Small detail, but the blackout curtains actually block out light completely.
Amenities & Dining
The pool area is where this place really shines — it’s got that resort feel even though you’re in the middle of the metro. There’s a decent fitness center that’s open 24/7, which saved me during jet lag recovery. The on-site restaurant serves solid Filipino and international dishes, though I’d recommend trying some of the local places in the area too. What I appreciated was having parking included — in Metro Manila, that’s not something you take for granted, and it’s right on-site so you don’t have to walk blocks with your luggage.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it’s the combination of being in a prime location without the premium price tag of some BGC hotels. The service feels personal rather than corporate, and the facilities are maintained really well. You get that sense that management actually cares about the guest experience rather than just going through the motions. For couples especially, there’s something about the area that just works — maybe it’s the tree-lined streets or the fact that you can actually have a conversation while walking around without competing with traffic noise. It’s one of those places where you’d be comfortable staying for business or leisure.

Excellent home away from home. – Mae from Philippines – December 14, 2024 (10/10)
Apartment is in excellent condition, designed aesthetically well, bed was perfectly firm, fresh and the kitchen is well-equipped. For a couple or two people, it is comfortable. Location is great, with a small supermarket across the road, a drug store on the corner and a breakfast place up the road. The Venice Grand Mall is less than a 10 minute walk and safe. Lots of restaurants along the main road and in the mall. Concierge staff were very helpful, friendly and available 24/7. Strict security ensures that no person loiters in the area or enters the residence. Very quiet surroundings.
What could be improved: The weather may be hot and humid. The air-conditioning works perfectly.A great place to stay, with mall next door and shops and restaurant nearby. The host was especially accommodating and re – Joe from Hong Kong – November 25, 2024 (9/10)
