But this four-star place tucked inside the Knightsbridge Residences actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk in, which isn’t always a given in busy Makati.

What really got me was the attention to small details that most hotels just skip. The rooms have these blackout curtains that actually work – I mean, they block out every bit of light from the city below, which is huge when you’re dealing with jet lag. The beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough without feeling like you’re being swallowed, and honestly, the linens felt more expensive than what I’d expect from a place in this price range. You’ll find a decent work setup too, with plenty of outlets positioned where they actually make sense (why is this so rare?). The bathroom’s compact but smartly designed, with water pressure that doesn’t quit halfway through your shower.

The location is pretty stellar if you want to be in the thick of things without the chaos of tourist central. You’re walking distance to some fantastic local restaurants – there’s this hole-in-the-wall place serving incredible sisig just two blocks over that locals actually frequent. Ayala Avenue is right there when you need proper shopping or business meetings, but the residential setting means it gets genuinely quiet at night. I actually slept with the windows cracked open, which I rarely do in Manila. Parking was straightforward too, no circling the block or paying premium rates. The whole Knightsbridge complex feels secure without being fortress-like, and there’s a convenience store downstairs for those late-night snack runs we all pretend we won’t make. What impressed me most, though, was how the place felt lived-in rather than show-roomy – like they designed it for people who actually travel, not just Instagram photos.

  The host, Adam is a great guy. The place is great, complete with toiletries, towels, coffee and tea and we even have a complimentary water. Adam is very kind and gave us a quick tour of the building as per my request. He responds really quick on questions.
  
  I strongly recommend this place and I will definitely stay at his place again.
