Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of BGC places, but 1 BR Uptown BGC across Uptown Mall honestly surprised me in the best way. When I first walked into this four-star spot on 8th Avenue, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s technically a residential building that does short stays, right? But the moment you step inside, you realize this isn’t your typical hotel setup.

The apartment itself feels like someone actually lives there (in a good way), not like those sterile serviced apartments that scream “corporate housing.” The one-bedroom unit I stayed in had this lived-in comfort – proper blackout curtains that actually work, a kitchen you’d want to cook in, and honestly, one of the better shower setups I’ve experienced in Taguig. What really got me though was the view. Depending on which unit you get, you’re looking out over the BGC skyline, and at night it’s pretty spectacular. The building’s high enough that you’re above most of the street noise, which is saying something in this area.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before I booked: the location is absolutely perfect if you’re the type who likes to walk everywhere. Uptown Mall is literally right across the street – I’m talking a two-minute walk where you can grab everything from groceries at S&R to late-night snacks. The High Street area is maybe a ten-minute stroll, and you’ve got Venice Grand Canal and all those restaurants within easy reach. Parking was surprisingly hassle-free too, which anyone who’s driven around BGC will appreciate. The staff at the front desk were actually helpful (not just polite-but-useless helpful), and they knew the neighborhood well enough to give decent restaurant recommendations. I ended up at this little Filipino place they suggested that I never would have found otherwise. My only minor gripe? The Wi-Fi could be stronger, and if you’re sensitive to air conditioning noise, bring earplugs – the unit’s AC works great but it’s not exactly whisper-quiet. Still, for the price point and that 8.4 rating it’s earned, you’re getting solid value. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in BGC, but it nails the essentials really well.

  The location is very convenient! Malls, shops, hospital even the church are just walking distance from the bldg and everything else is easily accessible. I like the fact that the front desk lobby people are also very friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The rag for the CR is only 1 and no spare which is for me – not enough especially that when we shower, water is spilling everywhere, and it gets messy around with just 1 rag.
