There’s something satisfying about making your own coffee instead of paying hotel prices, especially when you’re staying more than a couple nights. The building itself has that slightly worn but well-maintained feel that a lot of Manila residential towers have – the lobby’s clean and the elevators work fine, though they can get pretty packed during rush hours when residents are coming and going.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood vibe, honestly. Malate gets written off as too touristy by some people, but if you walk just two blocks in any direction from Adriatico Street, you hit these pockets where it’s mostly Filipino families and longtime residents. The sound mix is pure Manila – jeepneys rumbling past, kids playing in the courtyard below, and this elderly woman who practices piano every morning around 7 AM (which sounds annoying but is actually kind of charming). You’re close enough to all the Ermita action if you want it, but far enough that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, it’s not going to be library-quiet – this is the city center after all – but it’s manageable. The St. Lukes proximity also means the area feels a bit more… I don’t know, legitimate? Less like a tourist bubble. Plus there’s a 7-Eleven practically next door and a couple of solid local restaurants within walking distance where you can get proper adobo without paying foreigner prices. Just don’t expect luxury resort service – this is more like borrowing a friend’s well-located apartment, which for the price point, actually works out pretty well.

  It’s 40 stories up. There’s only a few buildings blocking an otherwise clear view.
