This four-star spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location on Sunrise Drive puts you right in the heart of the action without the chaos that usually comes with being near Mall of Asia, and trust me, that’s saying something in Pasay.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this sort of boutique hotel feel within the Shell Residences complex. I mean, you’re technically staying in a condo building, but Aiza’s team has figured out how to make it work seamlessly. The units are spacious – way more room than you’d get in a traditional hotel for the same price – and honestly, having a proper kitchenette made such a difference during my stay. The Wi-Fi is solid (I was working remotely part of the time), and the air conditioning actually keeps up with Manila’s humidity, which… well, anyone who’s been here in the summer knows that’s not always a given.

The real winner though is the proximity to everything without feeling like you’re camped out in a tourist trap. You can walk to SM Mall of Asia in about ten minutes, which is perfect for grabbing groceries or hitting up the restaurants, but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds streaming past your window. The nearby jeepney routes along Roxas Boulevard make getting around pretty straightforward, and if you’re flying out of NAIA, you’re looking at maybe 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night because the 8.3 rating this place has earned feels spot-on – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The staff genuinely seems to care about making sure you’re sorted, and in a city where service can be hit or miss, that personal touch from Aiza’s team really stands out. Plus, you get these nice sunset views over Manila Bay if you snag the right unit, which is honestly worth the stay alone.

Hotel in Manila booking should be done early, especially during festival season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and street parades at historic venues.

  the location which is near MOA plus the host was so accommodating and tried to facilitate all our queries and provided information as to the regulations on the property, plus the pool access was great my daughter enjoyed her daily swim, she provided additional lighting that day for more room brightness, our pool view was great
