It’s actually got this beachy vibe going on despite being so close to NAIA – I mean, you can literally hear planes overhead sometimes, but honestly, the sound of the waves sort of drowns it out. The whole place sits right along Manila Bay, and when I walked into the lobby, there was this immediate shift from the chaos of Manila traffic to something that felt more like a proper beach retreat.

The resort – because that’s really what this five-star property is, despite the airport proximity – spreads out along the waterfront in a way that makes you forget you’re still technically in the metro. I spent most of my time by their main pool area, which faces the bay and catches these incredible sunset views. The staff here really knows their stuff too; they’ll tell you exactly when to grab a spot for the best light (around 5:30 PM if you’re curious), and they’re quick with fresh towels and cold drinks without being pushy about it. What impressed me was how they’ve managed the whole airport thing – yes, you’ll see planes, but the resort is positioned so the beach faces away from the main flight path, so it’s actually pretty peaceful during the day.

The rooms are solid – mine had this massive window overlooking the water, and the air conditioning works like a dream, which honestly matters more than you’d think in this humidity. Check-in was smooth, parking is free and plentiful (huge plus if you’re driving from the city), and the restaurant does this interesting mix of Filipino and international dishes. I tried their bangus breakfast and some pasta thing that was surprisingly good. The beach itself isn’t going to win any pristine water awards – this is Manila Bay after all – but it’s clean enough, and there’s something charming about watching the sunset with the city skyline in the distance. For families, they’ve got this kids’ area that’s well thought out, and the pool is big enough that it never felt crowded even when I was there during a weekend. If you’re flying in or out of Manila and want something more interesting than a generic airport hotel, this place gives you that resort experience without having to trek out to Batangas or Subic.

  What could be improved: Man konnte wenn man zu früh da war nur in der brütenden Hitze warten. Noch das Gepäck bei der Rezeption abgeben um etwas anderes zu machen. Also blieb uns nur übrig 3 Stunden dort rumzusitzen. Wir durften auch nicht in die poolarea während des Wartens..
