I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Brittany Hotel BGC on Mini Park along McKinley Parkway, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like a pretty understated building. But you know what they say about not judging books by their covers, because this four-star spot turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to tell people about it.

The thing about staying in Bonifacio Global City is that you’re right in the heart of Metro Manila’s business district, but Brittany manages to feel removed from all that corporate hustle somehow. Maybe it’s because Mini Park is actually tucked away from the main BGC chaos – you’re close enough to walk to all those fancy malls and restaurants everyone raves about, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise at night. I mean, you can still hear the city (this is Manila after all), but it’s more of a gentle hum than the usual urban assault. The staff at check-in were genuinely friendly too, not that rehearsed hotel politeness you sometimes get – they actually seemed to care about making sure I knew my way around the neighborhood.

What really won me over though was how the hotel strikes this balance between being professional enough for business travelers but relaxed enough that you don’t feel like you need to straighten your shirt every time you walk through the lobby. The rooms are honestly well-designed – nothing flashy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which matters when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag. Parking was surprisingly easy too, something you definitely can’t take for granted in this part of the city. I found myself using the hotel as a base to explore BGC properly – High Street and Serendra are basically a short walk away, and if you’re into the whole rooftop bar scene, there are plenty of options nearby. The area gets pretty lively on weekends, but in a good way. Honestly, for the price point and location, Brittany delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re navigating a city as intense as Manila.

  What could be improved: The door doesn’t close smoothly. I had to pull hard to close it. It’s not aligned. Same goes for the bathroom door, it’s hard to close it. The fridge is way too small.

  The location, very friendly staff and the rooms were spacious and clean. Only the bathroom lacked face towels . But there was shampoo conditioner and body wash provided. Over all we had a pleasant stay.
