The thing about staying here is that you’re actually living like a local for a few days, which I mean, isn’t that what travel should be about? The building sits right at the corner of Fernando Avenue, so you’ve got this perfect vantage point to watch Marikina go about its daily business. And honestly, the city views they promise? They deliver. From the upper floors, you can see the whole urban sprawl stretching toward Manila – it’s particularly gorgeous during that golden hour when the sun’s setting and the city lights are just starting to flicker on. The rooms themselves feel more like serviced apartments than typical hotel rooms, which worked perfectly for me since I was staying for almost a week. There’s actual space to spread out, decent-sized windows that let in plenty of natural light, and the air conditioning actually works (trust me, in Manila’s heat, that’s not always a given).

What really won me over, though, was the neighborhood vibe. Sumulong Highway might sound intimidating, but this stretch is pretty manageable – you’re close enough to everything without being stuck in the worst of Manila traffic. I found myself walking to nearby eateries for authentic Filipino breakfast, and there’s this little convenience store just down the block that became my daily stop for coffee and snacks. The staff at Cordova Place seemed genuinely surprised to have a tourist, which was refreshing actually – they were eager to share recommendations and help out without that rehearsed hospitality you get at bigger chains. Parking was never an issue (which, if you know Metro Manila, is basically a miracle), and the building’s security made me feel comfortable coming and going at odd hours. Sure, it’s not going to have the marble lobbies or fancy restaurants of the big international hotels, but sometimes you want a place that feels real, you know? The 8.2 rating makes sense to me – it’s solid, reliable, and gives you an authentic taste of what it’s like to actually live in this part of the Philippines rather than just pass through it.

  The location – It was near to a laundry mat, groceries and many dining places. The apartment was well equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, TV and WiFi. Well furnished with a couch and dining table. Beddings were neat and clean and the bedrooms are decent sizes. A big swimming pool is available, The security guards were nice, polite and helpful. Host was very friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The address given is completely wrong. We got stuck in the elevator at 10pm and no one was responding to the elevator alarm and had to force the doors open. A sachet of shampoo, dishwashing liquid and a small bar of soap are not expensive and would have been helpful upon arrival. Cleaning could be better as there was dissolved soap in the bathroom and a pile of dirt in the corner of the second bedroom (like it was swept but not picked up). Lastly, a bit expensive – you can get a hotel in BGC beside SM Aura at a lower rate.
