EG Private House -BGC UPTOWN Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about EG Private House -BGC UPTOWN, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name sounds a bit mysterious, right? But after staying there last month, I get it now. It’s tucked inside the Uptown Parksuites Tower 2, which is actually perfect because you get that four-star hotel experience but with way more privacy than your typical busy lobby scene.
The location in Taguig is honestly brilliant if you know BGC at all. You’re literally walking distance from all those fancy restaurants and shopping spots, but you’re just removed enough that you don’t hear the weekend party crowds stumbling around at 2 AM. I mean, BGC can get pretty wild on Friday nights – trust me on that one. What I really loved was how easy it was to grab a coffee at the nearby cafes in the morning, then walk over to High Street for dinner without dealing with Manila traffic (which, you know what, is always a blessing). The whole Uptown area has this sort of residential vibe that feels more grown-up than the main BGC strip.
The rooms themselves surprised me – they’re more spacious than I expected, and honestly, the setup feels more like staying in someone’s really nice apartment than a standard hotel room. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’re there because it’s those little details that add up. Good water pressure in the shower, blackout curtains that actually work, and – this might sound silly but it matters – the Wi-Fi doesn’t randomly cut out when you’re trying to work. I spent a few mornings on my laptop by the window, and the view of the city waking up was pretty great. The building itself is quiet too, which I wasn’t expecting given how close everything is to the action. Check-in was smooth, no drama, and the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood well when I asked about getting around. They pointed me toward this little Filipino restaurant a few blocks away that I never would’ve found otherwise – definitely not a tourist trap, just good local food. If you’re planning to stay here, I’d say book it during the week if you can. Weekends in BGC get pretty packed, and while the hotel stays calm, getting around the area takes longer with all the foot traffic.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Manila through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best districts for experiencing the city’s metropolitan atmosphere and colonial heritage.

Nice room, accessible to everything!
What could be improved: “Included breakfast” was a little bland. The room didn’t get cleaning service for two days, even though the tag was on the door.Exceptional – Cheriza from United States – July 9, 2025 (10/10)
Very convenient to everything!

Excellent location.. Units were clean.. Staff was very helpful, attentive and responded quickly to your needs.
What could be improved: The front steps of the building was hard to manage for someone with a handicap. A little outdated.I was a good stay. Just a few very minor issues. – Nick from Japan – June 3, 2025 (8/10)
The staff was excellent. The location was excellent. Very quiet room.
What could be improved: The pool was unavailable for 2 days. If I missed the notice that it would be closed during our stay then I apologize. The drapes in the bedroom let in to much light. The shower curtain probably needs to be replaced it has mold on the bottomBest place to stay in BGC and FREE BREAKFAST! – Joann from Philippines – May 27, 2025 (10/10)
Stayed here for a week. It’s my go-to place whenever I’m in BGC. They make sure you really have a good stay. They even call in the evening just in case you need something. Daily housekeeping is a top-notch as they don’t just makeup the bed but make sure everything is spotless. And what I love the most is the FREE BREAKFAST. I always wonder what food we will be having for breakfast. It’s like waiting for a surprise. You don’t need to order from grab or go out very early in the morning because they make sure you will have a delicious meal before starting your day. You got free snacks, as well as free coffee and loose leaf tea. You just have to ask if you run out.
Staff is just one call away. Everyone is friendly and service is top-notch. They make you feel welcomed from checkin to checkout.
I will always come back. 😊
What could be improved: Nothing.Exceptional – Alisha from Malaysia – May 7, 2025 (10/10)
The manager, Eric, was so very helpful in ensuring that we had a good stay. He also helped us find a car and driver to Clark Airport, and recommended a nearby clinic for my husband, who had developed an ear infection. The Asian breakfasts they served were tasty and delivered to the room every morning, which was much appreciated. And the location cannot be beat – within a few minutes walk to the Uptown Mall and Mitsukoshi Department Store. Highly recommended!!!
What could be improved: The bed pillows were a little lumpy, but it was a very minor inconvenience.Wonderful – Ross from New Zealand – May 4, 2025 (9/10)
