Hotel H2O Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Hotel H2O, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place with such a simple name. But after spending a few nights there, I get it now. This four-star spot sits right in the heart of Luneta, and you know what? The location actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Rizal Park, which means you can grab your morning coffee and be people-watching by the monument before most tourists even wake up. The whole area has this interesting mix of locals doing their daily jog and families setting up for weekend picnics – it’s real Manila life happening right outside your window.

The hotel itself has this modern, clean vibe that feels refreshing after walking around the busy streets. I mean, Manila can be overwhelming with all the traffic and noise, but stepping into H2O is like hitting a reset button. The lobby’s got this cool, minimalist thing going on – lots of white and blue tones that actually live up to the water theme without being cheesy about it. What I really appreciated was how quiet the rooms were, considering you’re in such a central spot. The staff genuinely seemed to care about making sure everything worked properly, which honestly isn’t always a given at this price point. My room faced the park side, and I could see families gathering for Sunday activities – it felt like getting a peek into local life rather than being stuck in some tourist bubble.

Here’s the thing though – while the 7.4 rating might seem just okay on paper, I think it undersells what this place offers. Sure, it’s not going to blow you away with luxury amenities, but it nails the fundamentals really well. The beds are comfortable, the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building, and the housekeeping team keeps everything spotless. Plus, being so close to the LRT station means you can get around the city without dealing with Manila’s legendary traffic jams. I found myself walking to nearby restaurants in Ermita for dinner, then coming back to decompress without feeling like I was miles away from everything interesting. The breakfast setup is pretty solid too – they do a decent mix of Filipino and international options, and the coffee is strong enough to prepare you for whatever Manila adventure you’ve got planned. For travelers who want to be right in the action but still have a calm place to retreat to, H2O strikes that balance better than a lot of pricier places I’ve stayed at in the city.

Reviews of Hotel H2O

  • Very Good – Nicole from Australia – February 28, 2025 (8/10)

We arrived early and were not only able to check in but also got upgraded for free! The room was large, comfortable with magnificent views of Manila and the bay. Staff were very efficient, professional and friendly. The bar was a great place to enjoy dinner with great staff!

What could be improved: The long walk from our room to get anywhere! Also there was maintenance work being conducted near our room which was quite noisy and disruptive as it went until 10pm. However when we raised this with staff we were upgraded for our last night to a quiet area, and closer to amenities which was much appreciated!

  • Very Good – Mark from Philippines – February 4, 2025 (8/10)

I like the loc its near in everything then the aqua room so quite and relaxing watching the fishes 🥰 Our kids really enjoy it.

  • Beautiful Ocean View – Daran from Australia – January 17, 2025 (8/10)

Room was lovely. It was a pity maintenance kept working late at night so all you could hear was banging and scraping making it difficult to sleep- especially when we have a baby.

What could be improved: Breakfast was woeful- poor selection and not very clean restaurant.

  • Nice definitely was nice place to rest after a very long flight – Logan from Canada – November 23, 2024 (7/10)

Was nice loved! The fish tank really really enjoyed that and love the ocean right there and I loved ocean park

What could be improved: Not much nice place other than someone accidentally come into our room while was sleeping but it was all good

  • one of my favorite hotels in Manila – Marc from Switzerland – April 7, 2024 (8/10)

The hotel is located between luneta park and manila bay; close to intramuros, so that it is both, central, but also in an area with less traffic and relatively fresh air. The staff is very friendly and accomodating and the bay view from respective rooms is spectacular.

What could be improved: The food in the restaurant is ok, but maybe inferior to most hotels of this price range.

  • it was ok. – Jim from Canada – March 24, 2024 (6/10)

the full length aquarium was nice and interesting.

What could be improved: the facilities were dated, and too spread out.
the pool was not attached to the hotel directly.

  • It was good stay for overnight. – Marie from Philippines – January 24, 2024 (8/10)

Sea view is nice thou we miss the manila bay sunset due to cloudy day.

What could be improved: Facility was in renovation so we had to passby the hallway working area of the renovation.

  • Everything was great except for the… – Aaron from United Kingdom – December 10, 2023 (8/10)

We love the size of the room and the complete amenities including the view of Manila Bay and coastal areas. The staff are very helpful when you require something. They are also very welcoming and courteous when conversing. There are plenty of towels and had 2 separate toilets aside from the bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and we had a good night sleep.

What could be improved: It could have been perfect but the low water pressure of the shower was disappointing. It could have been just the guests' loud voices but you can really hear the sound/conversation from the next room.

  • Overall it was ok. – Brian from Philippines – December 9, 2023 (8/10)

The location was perfect. The staff was polite.

What could be improved: A staff member delivered a cheeseburger, fries and a beer to our room with the 4 glasses of ice we asked for. 2 hours later I received a call asking me if I got the food and beer the I did not order. We got Pizza Hut delivered. I said yes. Then I was told I needed to pay for it. I spoke with them a while but told them I wasn’t paying. About 10 minutes later a waitress knocked on the door demanding payment. I turned her away. I then called the front desk to complain and was told not to worry.

  • Gret – Brian from Philippines – December 5, 2023 (8/10)

I liked the full wall aquarium but too little fish in it

What could be improved: Our doe was loud when opening. Rm 3225
