When I first walked into Destina Stays, Cozy & Netflix @Air Residences, Makati, Metro Manila, I honestly wasn’t expecting much from what seemed like another serviced apartment – but this place actually surprised me in the best way. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe that feels more boutique hotel than corporate housing, and the staff genuinely seemed happy to see me, which you don’t always get in Makati. What really caught my attention was how they’ve managed to create that “home away from home” feeling without it being cheesy – there’s Netflix ready to go on a decent-sized TV, the wifi actually works (trust me, I tested it immediately), and the kitchen setup is functional enough that you could cook real meals if you wanted to skip the endless restaurant scene outside.

The location is honestly pretty sweet if you know anything about Metro Manila. Being right on the corner of Ayala Avenue puts you in the thick of everything without the chaos – you can walk to Greenbelt when you want to shop or grab dinner, but you’re not dealing with the insane traffic noise that hits some of the other places in the business district. I mean, you’ll still hear the city (it’s Manila, after all), but the rooms are surprisingly quiet, especially considering you’re essentially in the financial heart of everything. The four-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the Shangri-La, but the amenities work well and everything feels clean and thoughtfully arranged. The air conditioning is solid, which matters more than you might think when you’re dealing with Manila’s humidity.

What I really appreciated was the little stuff that shows someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. The shower pressure is excellent, there are enough outlets near the bed for your phone and laptop, and the blackout curtains actually block out the city lights so you can sleep properly. The Netflix thing might sound gimmicky, but after a long day of meetings or sightseeing, being able to crash and watch something familiar without fiddling with local TV channels is honestly pretty nice. You know what also impressed me? The building itself feels secure without being stuffy – you need a key card to get to the elevators, but it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a fortress. If you’re planning to spend time in Makati and want something that feels more personal than a big hotel chain but more reliable than a random Airbnb, this place hits that sweet spot pretty well.

  The apartment was very clean, the bed was extremely comfortable with plenty of plush pillows, the view of the city was spectacular, the AC was very strong (I often had to turn it off because of how powerful it was!), host is very responsive, and the location was very convenient- being near a 7-11 and many restaurants.
  
  The host even offered housekeeping halfway through my stay to freshen the apartment and left 2 water bottles after they were done.
  
  What could be improved: Note that this unit does not have kitchenware- so even though it has a kitchenette you cannot cook inside this unit. The elevators in the building are also very slow, so plan ahead if you are calling a Grab car.

  had a really good and comfortable stay in this place.. the owner is responsive to messages, asks how is everything and give simple check in-out instructions. the place is generally clean. enjoyed the big tv. overall, can recommend and good experience.
