The location is pretty clever if you think about it. You’re technically in Manila on Coronado Street, but you’re literally a stone’s throw from all the Rockwell action without paying Rockwell prices. I mean, you can walk to Power Plant Mall in maybe eight minutes, and Century City Mall is right there too, but you’re not dealing with the chaos of being smack in the middle of everything. The building itself – this Acqua Tower – has that sleek residential vibe that honestly feels more grown-up than a lot of the flashier hotel options around Makati. When I checked in, the staff seemed genuinely happy to see me, not just going through the motions, and that 9.3 rating starts making sense pretty quickly.

What I really appreciated was how the rooms felt like actual apartments rather than hotel boxes. The kitchen setup was proper – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation – so you can actually cook if you want to skip the restaurant scene for a night. The views depend on which side you get, but even the less spectacular ones look out over residential Manila in a way that feels authentic rather than touristy. Noise-wise, it’s surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the metro – the building seems well-insulated, and Coronado Street isn’t one of those nightmare traffic corridors. I slept better here than I expected, honestly. The pool area up top gives you decent city views without feeling like you’re performing for Instagram, if that makes sense. Actually, the whole place has this understated thing going on that I kind of loved – it’s polished without being showy, comfortable without trying too hard to impress you. Perfect if you want to be close to Makati’s business and shopping districts but prefer somewhere that feels more like a temporary home than a hotel room you’re just passing through.
