It’s tucked inside the SMDC Trees complex in Quezon City, right along Quirino Highway, and you know what? The location works better than you’d think. Sure, it’s not downtown Manila, but being in Pasong Putik means you’re away from the worst of the traffic chaos while still having decent access to the city.

The four-star rating feels about right here – it’s not trying to be some fancy resort, but the apartment-style setup gives you way more space than a typical hotel room. I mean, having an actual kitchen and living area makes such a difference, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. The building itself is pretty modern, and I appreciated that the elevators actually work efficiently (trust me, that’s not a given in Manila). What really caught me attention was how quiet it gets at night – the Trees complex does a good job of buffering street noise, which is honestly rare around Quirino Highway. The staff at the front desk were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions like you sometimes get at these condo hotels.

Now, let’s be real about the area – you’re not walking to major shopping or tourist spots from here, but that’s actually part of the appeal. There are local eateries within walking distance that serve solid Filipino food without the tourist markup, and if you need groceries or essentials, there’s a decent mall nearby. The Quirino Highway location means you can get to both northern suburbs and central Manila without too much hassle, though I’d avoid rush hours if possible (but honestly, when can you not say that in Metro Manila?). Parking was surprisingly stress-free, which is something I always worry about in the city. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed apartment than a sterile hotel, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want – especially if you’re in town for business or visiting family and just need a comfortable, reliable base.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Manila at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals and religious celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular historic attractions.

  Upon arrival I was greeted cheerfully and courteously by the owner. When I moved in a new sofa bed was delivered. The unit was fresh, fragrant, sanitary, & clean. The kitchen is well equipped. Cutlery, crockery, pots & pans, a refrigerator, an induction cooktop, range hood, a microwave oven, electric kettle, kitchen knives, chopping board, & needful utensils to cook meals 24/7 are readily available on a well lit, clean granite bench top. Cupboard space was plentiful & clean, vermin & cockroach free. A broom & dust pan are thoughtfully provided with numerous air fresheners. Drinking water was supplied free-of-charge thru a drink dispenser & quickly replenished upon request. The toilet was well laid out, well lit, & very clean. It has a sliding shower screen glass door, an efficiently flushing toilet, a bidet, & a well mounted wash basin. Free toilet paper was provided. There was ample supply of clean running water anytime of the day & night. A fully functional washing machine & dryer is readily available. The unit's decor and monochromatic colour scheme is easy on the eyes. It gives a homey, welcoming feel complemented by the neutral coloured hard wood floor. The trundle bed is massive with a single bed underneath, and the mattresses are firm and comfy. Fresh linen like mattress covers, pillow cases, four white fluffy bath towels, furry blankets & place mats were provided. Thoughtful amenities: First Aid kit, sewing kit, flat iron, & ironing board, numerous clothes hangers, a rolling clothes airer / hanger, & an umbrella were provided. A flat screen TV with streaming services like NETFLIX, YouTube, Al Jazeera, etc are easily available. Wi-Fi is lightning fast & reliable. This unit is the next best thing to home I have ever been & felt.
