The building sits on Taft Avenue – which, let’s be real, can get pretty chaotic with all the jeepneys and traffic – but once you step inside, it’s like entering a completely different world.

The lobby has this zen-like quality that actually lives up to the “Kaizen” name (which means continuous improvement in Japanese, by the way). I mean, the designers clearly understood the assignment here. The suites themselves are spacious – and I’m talking actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious. Floor-to-ceiling windows give you decent views of Manila’s urban sprawl, though if you’re facing Taft Avenue, you’ll definitely hear the city humming below. The soundproofing is pretty good though, so it’s more like a gentle reminder that you’re in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities rather than an assault on your eardrums.

What really won me over was the attention to detail in the rooms. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just for show – which is perfect if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby Malate market and actually cook something. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience too, which you don’t always get even at five-star places. They know the neighborhood inside and out, so they’ll steer you toward the good local spots instead of just the touristy ones. Speaking of location, you’re literally walking distance from Rizal Park and Manila Bay, plus all those hole-in-the-wall restaurants that make Malate such a foodie destination. The hotel’s in Zone 79, which sounds super official, but really it just means you’re right in the thick of everything – museums, galleries, that whole cultural strip along Roxas Boulevard. Honestly, for a business trip or if you want to explore Manila without feeling like you’re staying in some sterile bubble, this place hits the sweet spot. It’s polished enough to impress but grounded enough to feel real.

  What could be improved: Small bed. They will charge you extra for pillows. Location is not safe for travellers esoecially at night. One night when I went outside to buy water. One guy smash bricks infront of me and shouted. After few meters one guy again ask for money.
