Kaizen Suites Overview

You know what surprised me most about Kaizen Suites? It’s this sleek five-star property tucked right into the heart of Malate, and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building sits on Taft Avenue – which, let’s be real, can get pretty chaotic with all the jeepneys and traffic – but once you step inside, it’s like entering a completely different world.

The lobby has this zen-like quality that actually lives up to the “Kaizen” name (which means continuous improvement in Japanese, by the way). I mean, the designers clearly understood the assignment here. The suites themselves are spacious – and I’m talking actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious. Floor-to-ceiling windows give you decent views of Manila’s urban sprawl, though if you’re facing Taft Avenue, you’ll definitely hear the city humming below. The soundproofing is pretty good though, so it’s more like a gentle reminder that you’re in one of Asia’s most vibrant cities rather than an assault on your eardrums.

What really won me over was the attention to detail in the rooms. The kitchenettes are properly equipped – not just for show – which is perfect if you want to grab fresh ingredients from the nearby Malate market and actually cook something. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience too, which you don’t always get even at five-star places. They know the neighborhood inside and out, so they’ll steer you toward the good local spots instead of just the touristy ones. Speaking of location, you’re literally walking distance from Rizal Park and Manila Bay, plus all those hole-in-the-wall restaurants that make Malate such a foodie destination. The hotel’s in Zone 79, which sounds super official, but really it just means you’re right in the thick of everything – museums, galleries, that whole cultural strip along Roxas Boulevard. Honestly, for a business trip or if you want to explore Manila without feeling like you’re staying in some sterile bubble, this place hits the sweet spot. It’s polished enough to impress but grounded enough to feel real.

Manila’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Filipino hospitality and metropolitan sophistication, with many featuring spa services and authentic Filipino cultural experiences.

  • Pleasant – Francis from Philippines – March 17, 2025 (6/10)

    Spacious room

What could be improved: Small bed. They will charge you extra for pillows. Location is not safe for travellers esoecially at night. One night when I went outside to buy water. One guy smash bricks infront of me and shouted. After few meters one guy again ask for money.

  • fine as a cheap room b4 flight – Steve from United Kingdom – December 28, 2024 (7/10)

cheap price for a hotel 300 pesos grab car away from airport

What could be improved: bathroom could have been bigger , location next to metro line , trains running through night

  • Not bad overall – James from Philippines – August 28, 2024 (7/10)

The location is near LRT Quirino so easy access for transportation.

What could be improved: That my TV always needs to be rebooted by the staff because it won't connect to the wifi connection.

The room was spacious but its boring.
Maybe because there's no windows and then the lights were dim.

  • Good – Cesar from United States – April 17, 2024 (7/10)

    Spacious room

What could be improved: Near railroad track. We requested another room not so close to the railroad tracks, where you hear the train every 5-20 minutes.

  • It was fine, definitely will come back – Xyra from Philippines – September 28, 2023 (8/10)

    we didnt avail breakfast

What could be improved: I feel like no transparency and proper coordination among staff assigned as someone staff called me 3 times to confirm if we paid the room for 1 day extension where we already paid the same day we requested.

  • Value of money – Arnold from Philippines – February 19, 2023 (8/10)

The friendly and accommodating staff. The rooms are clean. The bed is comfortable. The place has secured doors at the house lobby. Many food establishments nearby.

What could be improved: Very close to the LRT railway. In the case of the room where I stayed, you can hear the noise of the train whenever it passes in the area.
