Novotel Suites Manila at Acqua Overview
You know what honestly surprised me about Novotel Suites Manila at Acqua? It’s tucked away on Coronado Street in this area called Hulo, which I’ll be honest – I hadn’t really explored much before staying here. But that turned out to be exactly what made it special. While everyone’s fighting traffic trying to get to the usual tourist spots in Manila, you’re in this quieter pocket that still puts you close to everything without the constant chaos right outside your window.
The suites themselves are properly spacious, which is refreshing when you’re used to those shoebox hotel rooms you typically get in the city. I mean, you actually have room to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase the entire time. The four-star rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be overly fancy, but everything works well and feels thoughtfully designed. The staff genuinely seemed to care about getting things right, not just going through the motions. I remember the front desk helping me figure out the best route to avoid rush hour traffic to Makati, which saved me probably an hour of sitting in a taxi.
What I really appreciated was how they’ve set up the common areas – there’s this nice flow between spaces where you can actually find a quiet corner to work if you need to, but it doesn’t feel sterile or corporate. The pool area becomes this little oasis, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits just right. And honestly, after walking around Manila all day in that heat and humidity, you’ll want that pool more than you think. The location on Coronado Street means you’re not dealing with the main road noise, but you can still grab a jeepney or taxi easily enough when you want to explore. I found some surprisingly good local spots within walking distance that I probably never would have discovered if I’d stayed in the more obvious hotel areas. The whole experience just felt more… authentic, I guess? Like you’re staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend rather than just another tourist factory.

We had a great stay at Novotel Suites in Manila. The location is very convenient, close to Makati and easy to get around. The staff were friendly and professional, and the rooms were clean and comfortable—just what we needed for a smooth and relaxing stay.
What could be improved: The only downside was the pool, which felt too small for a hotel of this size and looked quite dirty, so we ended up not using it.Stays are always relaxing and very enjoyable. – John from Philippines – May 13, 2025 (9/10)
