I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to One Palm Tree Villas on Resort Drive, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name had me picturing some massive resort complex, but this place is actually more intimate than that, which turned out to be exactly what I needed. It’s tucked away in Pasay, and while that might not sound glamorous to first-time visitors, anyone who knows Manila understands you’re perfectly positioned here – close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos of Makati or BGC to actually relax.

The four-star rating feels right on the money. Look, it’s not trying to be the Peninsula or anything like that, but honestly? The attention to detail surprised me. The villas themselves have this clean, modern aesthetic without being sterile – you know how some places feel like they were designed by committee? This doesn’t have that problem. Each villa has its own character, and I loved that mine had this little outdoor space where I could actually hear birds in the morning (rare for Metro Manila, trust me). The staff genuinely seemed to care about getting things right too. When I mentioned I was having trouble with the wifi during check-in, they had someone up to fix it within twenty minutes – not the next day, not “we’ll look into it,” but actually solved.

What really won me over though was how they handle the small stuff. The pool area never felt crowded, even when the place was clearly busy, and they’ve got this setup where you can grab decent coffee and pastries in the morning without having to trek somewhere else or pay resort prices. The location is pretty clever too – you’re maybe fifteen minutes from the airport when traffic cooperates (which, let’s be real, isn’t always), but you’re also close enough to Bay City that you can easily get to good restaurants or shopping if you want. I ended up walking to a couple of local spots the staff recommended, and that 9.3 rating makes sense when you realize they actually know their neighborhood well enough to give you real suggestions, not just the tourist traps. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere that gets both comfort and convenience right without trying too hard to impress you.

  Check-in was easy to organise, the condo studio had most things needed for a short stay. wifi worked very well.

  The location is central and there is less than 5 minute walk to the airport from the macdonalds nearby, manginasal deliver, so it is easy to get late night food
