I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Shamish Relaxing Getaway Studio, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a place tucked inside SMDC Trees Residences in Novaliches. But you know what? This little four-star gem completely surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible.

The thing about staying in Quezon City is that you’re getting the real Manila experience without the crazy tourist crowds, and this studio really nails that vibe. It’s located on St Matthew street, which honestly sounds more intimidating on paper than it actually is – the Trees Residences complex itself feels pretty secure and well-maintained. I was expecting something cramped (studio apartments can be hit or miss), but the space actually breathes well. The design is clean without being sterile, if that makes sense, with these nice touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers need. There’s proper storage space – and I can’t tell you how many places forget about that basic necessity.

What really got me though was how quiet it stays, even being in such a busy part of the metro. The soundproofing is surprisingly good, which matters a lot when you’re trying to decompress after navigating Manila traffic all day. The building amenities are solid too – decent elevators, reliable WiFi throughout, and the kind of security setup that lets you actually relax. I stayed there during one of those typical Manila rainy stretches, and honestly, it became this perfect little retreat where I could just… breathe. The kitchenette setup is functional enough for simple meals (there’s a good grocery nearby if you want to stock up), but you’re also close enough to some really authentic local food spots that most tourists never find. I mean, being in Novaliches puts you right in the heart of where actual Filipinos live and eat – no tourist markup, just good food. The whole experience feels more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed place than a typical hotel, which I think is exactly what they’re going for. It’s the kind of spot where you end up staying longer than planned because it just works, you know?

  Lovely comfortable condo with hot shower well stocked with drinks including alcohol and snacks reasonably priced and a comfy bed and very clean. The Trees Residences are nearby to the mall's easy walking distance but mind the traffic as its not all paved, typically Philippines style taxis no problem if you need one and trains too tho we never used it. Glad to recommend 👌 👍.
  
  What could be improved: Apart from music from next door at 3 in the morning, some people just will not follow the rules 😒, just tell the guards to sort it out, there was no issues with our stay tho having stayed at the Trees Residences 6 years ago must say it's starting to show its age a bit and the standard of the overall condition of the place has dropped a little but for a short stay isn't a problem tho I wouldn't want to live there to be honest.
