Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Shell Residences Mall of Asia Pasay, I thought it was just going to be another generic condo-hotel situation. But after staying there twice now (once for business, once with family), I’m actually pretty impressed with what they’ve got going on there. The location on Sunrise Drive puts you right in the thick of things without the complete chaos of central Manila, and you know what? That balance is harder to find than you’d think in this city.

What really won me over is how they’ve managed to make it feel like you’re staying in a proper apartment rather than just a hotel room. I mean, you’ve got full kitchens in most units, which is clutch when you’re dealing with jet lag and want to grab groceries from the SM Mall of Asia instead of paying hotel restaurant prices for every meal. Speaking of the mall – it’s literally a five-minute walk, maybe ten if you’re dragging luggage. The four-star rating feels about right; it’s not trying to be the Makati Shangri-La, but everything works properly and the staff actually seems to care. The front desk guys remember your name after a day or two, which is a nice touch.

The thing about Pasay that a lot of people don’t realize is that you’re positioned really well for getting around Metro Manila. Sure, EDSA traffic is still EDSA traffic, but you’ve got the LRT nearby, and honestly, the airport is close enough that you don’t have to budget three hours for your departure like you would from some other parts of the city. The pool area gets busy on weekends – mostly families from the other residential towers – but weekday afternoons it’s pretty chill if you want to decompress. One small thing that bugs me is the elevator wait times during rush hours, but that’s more about the building being popular than poor management. The views from the higher floors are actually quite nice, especially at sunset when you can see Manila Bay doing its thing. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between convenience and not breaking the bank, this place delivers without trying too hard to impress you.

  Such a lovely cosy unit! Felt so at home and loved the soft lighting of the lamps ☺️ nice little balcony with a view of the pool and the shower was nice and warm and good pressure, would definitely book again!!

  The location is great, 15min from the airport, near the supermarket, it has a pool 150 per day.
  I was looking for a place to chill 3 nights before continuing my trip and it was amazing.

  We got the studio unit with the lazy boy. It was a nice comfortable stay. The staff assisted us to the room upon check-in. There was complimentary water, coffee & bathroom amenities which was nice. The location is pretty close to SM Mall of Asia as well.
