Somerset Central Salcedo Makati Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Somerset Central Salcedo Makati, I wasn’t expecting much from another serviced apartment in the business district. But this place actually surprised me, and I mean that in the best way possible. Located right on HV Dela Costa Street, you’re basically in the heart of Salcedo Village, which is honestly one of the better spots to base yourself in Makati if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it.
What struck me immediately was how this four-star property manages to feel both polished and lived-in at the same time. The lobby has this warm, residential vibe – not too flashy, but you can tell they’ve put thought into making it welcoming. The staff actually remembers your name after a day or two, which is rarer than you’d think in Manila’s hotel scene. I stayed in one of their one-bedroom units, and honestly, the space felt more like a proper apartment than a hotel room. The kitchen is fully equipped (I mean actually equipped, not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation), and the living area has enough room to spread out your work stuff without feeling cramped. The bedroom’s pretty generous too, with blackout curtains that actually work – crucial when you’re dealing with Manila’s early sunrise and the occasional street noise from Dela Costa.
Speaking of location, you know what’s great about staying here? You’re literally a two-minute walk to the weekend Salcedo Market, where locals go for the best organic produce and artisanal everything. During the week, Ayala Avenue is close enough for business meetings, but you’re tucked away enough that you don’t get the full brunt of the traffic chaos. I found myself walking to dinner most nights – there’s this excellent ramen place called Ramen Nagi just around the corner, and if you’re feeling fancy, Blackbird’s not far either. The building itself has this nice pool area on an upper floor that’s perfect for an evening swim, though it gets busy around 6 PM when everyone’s done with work. What really won me over was the little details – decent water pressure in the shower, reliable WiFi that actually handles video calls, and housekeeping that doesn’t rearrange all your stuff. The gym’s small but functional, and they have a decent business center if you need to print boarding passes or whatever. One tiny complaint: the air conditioning can be a bit aggressive, so pack a light sweater if you run cold. Overall though, Somerset Central really nails that sweet spot between hotel service and apartment comfort, especially if you’re staying more than just a couple nights in Manila.

Reviews of Somerset Central Salcedo Makati
Exceptional – Anna from Philippines – September 13, 2025 (10/10)
The service was great. The staff at the front desk specifically were able to accommodate my requests. They received a package for me which was meant to be a surprise for my partner, and they were able to send it up to the room right on the dot as instructed. It was a lovely stay for us.

Nice location and a very good hotel overall – Oil from Thailand – September 4, 2025 (9/10)
Location is great. Salcedo weekend market is just right behind the hotels, you can find many restaurants and cafe around it. Hotel provide 5 litre of drinking water in the room which I really like it. Bed is very comfortable and room equipped with everything I needed. Staff is welcome and friendly.
What could be improved: Breakfast has less variety compared with another hotel I stayed in Manila, but they have most common things like salad, eggs, soup, bread, fruits, drinks.Very Good – Andre from Australia – September 3, 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Voucher system for breakfast is redundant. Need to make sure you have the correct dated slip or no entry. Breakfast buffet is small and very limited options.
