SMDC Fame Residences sits in this area where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the absolute chaos of the tourist strips. The building itself feels substantial – not one of those flimsy constructions you sometimes worry about. Security was professional without being overly fussy, and the elevators (thank goodness) actually work consistently. I’ve stayed in places where you’re gambling every time you press that button.

What I really appreciated was how the one-bedroom setup actually functions like a real living space. The kitchen area isn’t just for show – you can legitimately cook something beyond instant noodles if you want to save money or just crave something familiar. The balcony becomes your little sanctuary, especially in the evenings when the city settles into that golden hour rhythm. You’ll hear the sounds of Manila life below, but it’s more ambient than annoying. Storage space is adequate (I managed to fully unpack a two-week bag without playing Tetris), and the bathroom has decent water pressure – seriously underrated until you don’t have it. The Wi-Fi held up well for work calls, though I’d still recommend having a backup plan if you’re doing anything mission-critical. Air conditioning works hard and stays consistent, which you’ll definitely need. Is it perfect? Well, the walls could be a bit thicker, and sometimes you’ll catch whiffs of cooking from neighboring units, but that’s condotel life for you. For the price point and the actual livability factor, this place delivers more than it promises.
