I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name 2BR 2TB Uptown Parksuites BGC Balcony,fast WiFi,Washer, I thought someone had just copy-pasted a Craigslist ad. But you know what? Sometimes the most awkwardly named places turn out to be hidden gems, and this four-star apartment setup in Taguig is exactly that kind of surprise.

The thing about BGC (Bonifacio Global City, for those not in the know) is that it’s basically Manila’s attempt at creating a mini-Singapore – all glass towers, wide sidewalks, and chain restaurants. Uptown Parksuites sits right in the thick of it on 8th Avenue, which means you’re walking distance from Venice Grand Canal Mall if you need to grab groceries or catch a movie. I mean, sure, it’s a bit sterile compared to the chaos of old Manila, but honestly? After dealing with traffic jams and street vendors all day, coming back to this clean, organized bubble feels pretty good.

What actually impressed me about this place was how they’ve managed to make a serviced apartment feel less… well, corporate. The balcony overlooks the Uptown area, and while you’re not getting sunset views over Manila Bay, you do get to watch the city buzz below – which is oddly relaxing with your morning coffee. The two bedrooms are properly sized (not those tiny hotel doubles where you’re bumping into furniture), and having two full bathrooms is a game-changer when you’re traveling with family or friends. No more bathroom schedules, thank god. The washer situation is honestly brilliant – I don’t know why more places don’t offer this, especially in a humid climate where clothes take forever to dry.

The WiFi actually lives up to its “fast” billing, which is rare enough in Manila that it’s worth mentioning. I was video-calling back home without any of those awkward frozen-face moments. Location-wise, you’re about a 15-minute walk to High Street for dinner (try the ramen place on the second floor – locals line up for it), and grabbing a taxi to Makati or the airport is pretty straightforward since you’re already in the business district. The building itself feels secure without being overly fussy about visitors, and the elevators are quick – small thing, but you notice when you’re on a higher floor.

Look, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the name still makes me chuckle, but this place gets the fundamentals right. Clean, spacious, reliable internet, good location, and that washing machine might just save your trip when you realize you’ve been wearing the same shirt for three days straight in this heat.

• Great Location and Excellent Host – Dab114 from Philippines – July 10, 2025 (10/10)

  My family and I had a great stay here. The place was very clean and exactly as shown in the photos. It’s well located in BGC, just a short walk to the malls and everything we needed. The owner was very transparent and communicated frequently throughout our stay. We highly recommend this place.

  The location was the best. It was center to wherever we wanted to go.
  
  What could be improved: The property was a bit small but okay considering that the basic necessities were there. But there were a few lacking / defective basic amenities that could have made a difference for us, as follows.
  1. The kettle was defective.
  2. No drinking water. It wouldn’t cost the host that much if it were provided.
  3. No kitchen / hand towel. It may seem pretty basic but could have made a big difference if it was available in the kitchen if you want to wash your hands using the kitchen sink upon entering the unit.
  4. Only 1 toilet paper was available per toilet considering that we stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights.
  5. Bath tub in the masters bedroom was wrongly placed. It was raised above the tub frame, causing water from the shower to spill over the side and down to the bathroom floor.
  6. Some defective bath accessories. Loose towel and shampoo racks in the bathrooms.
  7. Some hooks behind the bathroom doors would have been very helpful.
  8. It would have been nice if some furnitures in the masters bathroom were present for storage purposes while in the toilet since there was a huge space behind the bathroom door in the masters bathroom.
  9. Glasses, cups and cutleries not enough for 4 guests.
  10. Defective drawer in the entertainment center.
  11. WiFi in the masters bedroom not detectable, if really available. There were times we would just use our data since the WiFi from the living room is weak going inside the masters bedroom.
  12. No garbage bins in the bedrooms.
