I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name A&G Condotel at 101 Newport across NAIA T3, I thought it sounded like a mouthful, but once you’re actually standing there on Newport Boulevard, it all makes perfect sense. This four-star place is literally what it says on the tin: you can practically watch planes taxi from some of the upper floors, and I mean that in the best possible way. The location is absolutely clutch if you’re flying in or out of Terminal 3 – we’re talking maybe a 10-minute ride depending on traffic, which in Manila is saying something.

What really surprised me about this condotel was how it doesn’t feel like your typical airport hotel at all. The rooms are spacious and actually designed for longer stays, with proper kitchenettes that include full-size fridges and decent cookware. I stayed here for four nights last month, and honestly, it felt more like borrowing a friend’s well-appointed apartment than camping out in a standard hotel room. The beds are solid – not too soft, not too firm – and the blackout curtains actually work, which is crucial when you’re dealing with jet lag. You know what I appreciated most though? The water pressure in the shower. Sounds silly, but after a long flight, that hot, strong spray hits different.

The Newport City area itself has really grown on me over the years. There’s a Resorts World right there if you want to grab dinner or catch a movie, plus plenty of convenience stores and decent restaurants within walking distance. The hotel staff seems to get that most guests are either coming or going somewhere, so they’re pretty accommodating with early check-ins and late checkouts when possible. I had a 6 AM flight once and they arranged airport transfer without any fuss – small touches like that matter when you’re stressed about travel logistics. The only thing that might bother some people is the occasional airplane noise, but honestly, if you’re staying here, you’re probably dealing with flights anyway, and the sound isn’t nearly as intrusive as you’d expect. Overall, it’s become my go-to spot whenever I need to be near the airport but don’t want to sacrifice comfort or space.

Hotel in Manila booking should be done early, especially during festival season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and street parades at historic venues.

  Felt very safe (with security on the building door) and close to lots of restaurants and cafes should you need to grab some food. You can always walk to the airport T3 from the block. Apartment owner met me to show me to the apartment and how everything worked.
