Aruga Apartments by Rockwell Makati Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Aruga Apartments by Rockwell Makati, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a serviced apartment setup, but this five-star property completely changed my perspective on extended stays in Manila. The building sits right in the heart of Rockwell Center, and you know what struck me immediately? How quiet it actually is once you’re inside, despite being surrounded by all that Makati energy. The lobby has this understated elegance – not flashy, just really well thought out with these comfortable seating areas where you can actually work if you need to.
The apartments themselves are honestly impressive. I mean, we’re talking full kitchens with proper appliances, not those tiny hotel fridges and coffee makers you usually get. The living spaces feel genuinely livable, with floor-to-ceiling windows that give you these sweeping views of the city (ask for a higher floor if you can – the difference is worth it). What I really appreciated was the attention to practical details – plenty of outlets in useful spots, blackout curtains that actually block light, and bathrooms with both a shower and soaking tub. The Wi-Fi is solid throughout, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to work from your temporary home base.
Location-wise, you’re basically in the sweet spot of Makati. Power Plant Mall is literally a few minutes’ walk away, which is incredibly convenient for groceries, dining, or just escaping the heat. The whole Rockwell area has this more relaxed vibe compared to the chaos around Ayala Triangle – you can actually take pleasant walks here. I found myself grabbing coffee at the nearby cafés most mornings, and there’s something really nice about feeling like you’re living in the neighborhood rather than just visiting. The building’s pool deck on the upper floors is genuinely relaxing, especially in the late afternoon when the light hits just right. Parking can get tight during peak times, but the staff is pretty good about managing it. If you’re staying for more than a few days and want space to actually spread out while still having hotel-level service, this place hits that balance really well.

What could be improved: The Reception Staff was so unprofessional, at the check in we were not told about the need for Card for each day for the Breakfast so we didn’t collect them and we were not provided with needed cards by the front desk, the first day we where tired we did not go for Breakfast, the day after we went down for breakfast, but we were asked for the cards, i went to reception and ask for the cards the gentleman at the reception started interrogating me by asking:
Did you not received the cards on check in?
I said no i didn’t, thin he asked me:
How did you eat breakfast yesterday?
I said we didn’t have breakfast Yesterday.
I think he was suggesting that i’m lying to him so i can get more breakfast Cards.
That was very rude,
I have stayed at this hotel for many times this time was very bad.Exceptional – Anna from Australia – November 21, 2024 (10/10)
