Coro Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Coro Hotel? The lobby actually feels like someone’s really well-designed living room rather than your typical sterile hotel entrance. I mean, it’s tucked right into Poblacion – honestly one of the most happening neighborhoods in Makati right now – and somehow they’ve managed to create this calm, almost residential vibe despite being surrounded by all the action.
The thing about this four-star spot is that it gets the balance right between being polished and not trying too hard. The rooms are what you’d expect – clean lines, good lighting, beds that don’t make you miss home too much – but there are these thoughtful touches that someone clearly spent time thinking about. The shower pressure is actually decent (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the blackout curtains work well enough that you won’t wake up at sunrise even if you’re facing east. I stayed on the sixth floor and barely heard the street noise from Kalayaan Avenue, which is saying something since that road can get pretty busy during rush hour.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to know the neighborhood inside and out. When I asked about grabbing coffee that wasn’t Starbucks, the front desk guy immediately pointed me toward this little roastery about two blocks away that I never would’ve found on my own. And honestly, being right in Poblacion means you’re walking distance from some of the best bars and restaurants in the city – Z Hostel’s rooftop is literally around the corner, and you’ve got everything from hole-in-the-wall Filipino joints to trendy cocktail spots within a five-minute walk. The location makes sense if you want to experience Manila nightlife without dealing with crazy taxi rides back to your hotel. Just be aware that weekends can get a bit lively outside (in a good way, but light sleepers might want to pack earplugs). The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s solid, reliable, and the kind of place where small details work in your favor without any major surprises, good or bad.

Reviews of Coro Hotel
Great place, food was great and staff were very friendly and helpful. Good value for money! – Chapman from Australia – September 4, 2025 (8/10)
Great staff, great rooftop bar and pool.
What could be improved: Booking a Grab during peak hour on that side is a little annoying with long wait times.Very Good – Danila from United Arab Emirates – August 31, 2025 (8/10)
Nice clean room, location near the action of Poblacion
What could be improved: Return of deposit takes a bit of timeWonderful Location, friendly staff and good breakfast. – Robert from France – August 29, 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast was nice, but no cappuccino. Location in the heart of Macati so very nice.
What could be improved: The room was quite pricy, because somehow hotels don't have king size beds in their standard rooms. For me, that's a must if I travel with my partner.Very Good – Andrea from Ireland – August 28, 2025 (8/10)
The room was amazing and the pool was also very nice and comfortable
What could be improved: The check out process. I left my bags in reception at 12pm to do the check out and to go for lunch after. I told them I was going to go for lunch but I’d be back to collect my bags, but they didn’t allow me to leave the hotel until they checked the room. They took a few minutes and the reception was full of people from others rooms.Very Good – Layne from United States – August 21, 2025 (8/10)
What could be improved: Charged a lot for a later check out.
We had a great stay at Coro Hotel – friendly staff, great location, nice rooftop pool. – Julie from Australia – August 6, 2025 (9/10)
I liked the friendly, attentive staff. They seemed to genuinely care about our welfare and we were grateful for their helpfulness.

The staff are approachable, friendly and helpful. We appreciated the friendly greeting on arrival and departure and open and helpful manner in supporting us to have a great stay.
What could be improved: A couple of bowls and cutlery in the room would be great, to enable snacks like yoghurt or fruit to be eaten in the room.Very Good – Siddharth from India – July 14, 2025 (8/10)
