Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila, I wasn’t expecting much from Alabang. I mean, it’s not exactly the first place that comes to mind when you think of Manila’s hotel scene, you know? But this five-star property completely changed my perspective on staying south of the city.

The thing about Filinvest City is that it’s got this whole planned community vibe going on – everything’s newer, cleaner, and way less chaotic than central Manila. The Crimson sits right in the heart of it all on Civic Drive, and honestly, the location works brilliantly if you’re doing business in the area or just want to escape the usual Manila madness. You’ve got Festival Mall literally across the street (perfect for late-night food runs), and the airport’s actually closer than if you were staying in Makati – something I wish I’d known earlier because those EDSA traffic nightmares are real.

What really got me about this place was how they’ve managed to feel distinctly Filipino without going overboard with the cultural theming. The lobby’s got these gorgeous earth tones and local art pieces, but it doesn’t feel like you’re staying in a museum. The rooms are spacious – and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious – with floor-to-ceiling windows that give you decent views of the city development below. The beds are properly comfortable (that matters when you’re dealing with jet lag), and the bathrooms have those rainfall showers that actually work well. You know what impressed me most though? The soundproofing. Even with construction happening nearby during my stay, I barely heard anything once I closed the door.

The rooftop pool area is where this hotel really shines. It’s not huge, but it’s got killer views and never felt crowded when I was there – probably because most tourists stick to Makati or BGC. The water’s the perfect temperature, and there’s actually decent poolside service without the usual resort markup insanity. I spent way more time up there than I planned, especially during sunset when the whole south Manila skyline lights up.

Look, I’ll level with you – the dining options in the immediate area aren’t mind-blowing if you’re expecting world-class Filipino cuisine, but the hotel’s restaurant does solid international fare, and honestly, having Festival Mall right there means you’ve got everything from Jollibee to proper sit-down restaurants within walking distance. Plus, if you’re feeling adventurous, the local eateries along Alabang-Zapote Road serve some seriously good home-style Filipino food that most hotel guests never discover.

The service here feels genuine rather than scripted – the front desk staff actually remembered my name by the second day, and housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive. It’s that kind of place where you can tell the management actually cares about the details. If you’re looking for something different from the usual Manila hotel experience, especially if your business takes you south of the city, this spot delivers way more than you’d expect from its slightly off-the-beaten-path location.

The concierge service in Manila can arrange exclusive Intramuros heritage tours, secure private island hopping experiences, and organize trips to nearby Tagaytay volcano views and Corregidor Island.

Reviews of Crimson Hotel Filinvest City, Manila

  • Good hotel. Nice experience but the room became available only after 30 minutes – Jenny from United Kingdom – August 25, 2025 (9/10)

I like the rooms, the facilities and the ambiance of the hotel. The staff gave my mom a birthday cake, which is impressive. Thank you very much for accepting my request and made my mom's birthday extra special.

What could be improved: The rooms for my two siblings (the twin rooms) took 30 minutes to be available. It kinda disappinting and bit ruined the 1st day of the stay. Wish, there was some complimentary or something. I believe it is not good because it is stated that the check in is 3pm. They were there earlier but the rooms became available only after 30 minutes. Good thing that I purchased 2 rooms. What if I only book 1 room? Where will they stay?

  • Wonderful – Cezar from Romania – August 10, 2025 (9/10)

Cleanliness all around, good food specially at the a la carte and pizza place situated at the ground floor, The Alibi is a fantastic bar definetly worth visiting it's located at the ground floor aswell, lovely staff, great service, I had a fantastic overall experience

What could be improved: The fact that in a 5 star hotel there was no minibar in my room

  • Wonderful – Renato from United Arab Emirates – June 16, 2025 (9/10)

Location. Cleanliness. Facilities were good. Staff accomodating

What could be improved: So Far only the breakfast buffet a bit expenssive.

  • Best hotel at this place – Wolfgang from Germany – June 14, 2025 (7/10)

Good location – shopping mall and restaurants nearby. Friendly staff – good gym and pool area.

What could be improved: No hot water at the room shower. Too much hectic at breakast buffet. Coffee- and egg-station very slow.

  • Fabulous hotel to stay – Shaun from Australia – June 9, 2025 (9/10)

Staff were super friendly and helpful at all times. We loved the amenities!

What could be improved: Housekeeping was a little hit n miss it took a few goes to get what you asked for, though, only a small blemish, in my opinion.

  • Our stay was very good. We enjoyed it. – Conneiligh from Philippines – May 23, 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: Tv could be upgraded to a smart tv

  • it was excellent overall. – Armi from Australia – April 14, 2025 (9/10)

    location

    What could be improved: none

  • Comfy stay at Crimson – Amor from Philippines – April 2, 2025 (9/10)

Had a nice stay at Crimson. Bed is big and comfy for 2. Amenities are also great. Will also recommend to add breakfast buffet if you can. Easy 5-7min walk to Festival Mall which is nice since there are lots of restos to choose from aside from the ones at the hotel premise. Staff are all nice and always greeting you with a smile.

What could be improved: Crimson hotel has a nice events place which means lobby is always crowded. We've witnessed 2-3 events during our 2-night stay. Didn't get to try the pool area since they had an event and there are lots of people all times. Breakfast cafe also gets crowded from 8am onwards. TV in the room is not smart tv so no netflix if you're planning to just chill in the room.

  • Great place to start a holiday in Philippines – Carey from Australia – March 19, 2025 (8/10)

Breakfast was wonderful beautiful views from the dining room. Jean was a wonderful waitress always ready to serve and clear and prepare anything that we required. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends, terrific value for money and really wonderful staff.

  • Good but could be much better – Russell from Canada – March 3, 2025 (8/10)

    Breakfast was superb.

What could be improved: Not the 5 star experience they claim. The rooms could be cleaner. There were areas in the room that obviously were not cleaned for a very long time. Sheets were stained, not a little, a lot. Musty smell in hallways.
