I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria by IHG, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another business hotel from the outside. But you know what? This five-star property completely changed my mind about the whole Ortigas area. The location right on that busy corner of Ortigas and ADB Avenue might seem hectic at first, but it’s actually brilliant – you’re literally connected to the Robinsons Galleria mall, which means you never have to worry about finding food or entertainment, especially during those notorious Manila rainstorms.

The rooms here feel genuinely upscale without being stuffy about it. I mean, the beds are ridiculously comfortable (they use those heavy, hotel-quality linens that actually stay tucked in), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure – something you can’t take for granted in this part of Manila, honestly. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays despite being right in the heart of everything. The soundproofing must be top-notch because I barely heard the traffic chaos outside, even on the lower floors. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re dealing with jet lag or trying to figure out the best way to get around Quezon City.

Here’s what locals probably won’t tell you – this hotel is perfectly positioned if you’re doing business in the Ortigas CBD, but it’s also sneakily great for tourists. You’ve got the MRT station right there, so getting to Makati or back to Manila proper is straightforward once you figure out the system. The hotel’s restaurant does this excellent breakfast spread (their longganisa is actually decent, surprisingly), and room service comes fast even during peak hours. Sure, the pool area isn’t huge, but it’s clean and gets good afternoon sun if you time it right. I’d definitely stay here again – the combination of genuine comfort, smart location, and staff who actually seem to care about what they’re doing makes it worth the splurge over some of the more generic options in the area.
