I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name GM Suite near SM MOA, Pasay I 2 Beds I City & Bay View, I thought it sounded more like a real estate listing than a hotel. But you know what? Sometimes the most awkwardly named places turn out to be hidden gems, and this four-star spot in Shore 2 Residences actually surprised me in the best way.

The location is what really sold me on this place. I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from SM Mall of Asia – and I’m not exaggerating here, you can practically see the mall’s giant globe from your window. But here’s the thing that most people don’t realize until they’re actually standing in one of those suites: the bay view isn’t just marketing fluff. When the sun starts setting over Manila Bay, you get this incredible orange glow that filters right into the room, and honestly, it’s worth dealing with the sometimes chaotic traffic around MOA Boulevard just for that moment. The city view side faces toward Pasay, and while it’s not as romantic as the bay side, there’s something oddly mesmerizing about watching the urban sprawl light up at night.

What I really appreciated – and this might sound weird – is how the place feels more like an actual apartment than a sterile hotel room. The two-bedroom setup means you’re not cramped together if you’re traveling with family or friends, and the kitchen area (which is basic but functional) saved me a fortune on dining out every meal. The building itself is pretty new, so everything feels fresh and well-maintained, though I will say the elevators can get crowded during peak hours when everyone’s heading out to the mall. Parking is straightforward if you’re driving, which is more than I can say for a lot of places in this area. The staff is genuinely helpful too – not just going through the motions, but actually remembering your name and checking if you need anything. I had an issue with the air conditioning remote on my second night, and they had someone up within fifteen minutes, no drama, no forms to fill out.

  It was inexpensive and the room is tidy enough for one person. The building seems very secure as well.
  
  What could be improved: The smell! The minute you walk in from the hallway right inside the room. The sewer smell is so consistent even Lysol spray can’t kill the smell. Need to install mechanical exhaust to suck all the unpleasantness inside the building. A full on pest control for the entire building needs to happen as well as there are roaches roaming around. Cleaners need to pay attention to nooks and crevices of the room as there are so many black mold in the toilet which BTW I have to clean myself coz I can’t stand looking at it.
