The moment you step out of the elevator on the 28th floor, there’s this immediate sense of calm that’s honestly pretty rare in the middle of Makati’s business district chaos. I mean, Jupiter Street can get pretty hectic during rush hour – you’ll hear the usual Manila traffic symphony – but once those elevator doors close behind you, it’s like entering a different world entirely.

The whole Japandi aesthetic thing isn’t just marketing speak here; they actually pulled it off. The suites have this clean, minimalist vibe with warm wood accents that somehow makes the space feel bigger than it probably is. What I really appreciated was how they didn’t go overboard with the Japanese influence – it’s subtle, tasteful, not like some theme park version. The kitchen setup is surprisingly functional too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I actually ended up cooking a few meals because, honestly, the nearby convenience stores on Jupiter have everything you need, and sometimes you just want to eat something that isn’t from a mall food court.

Being a four-star property in this location, you’d expect it to be solid, but the little details impressed me more than I thought they would. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently (crucial if you’re trying to get work done), and the air conditioning is powerful enough to handle Manila’s humidity without sounding like a jet engine. The building itself – Jazz Residences – has decent security, which gives you peace of mind, especially if you’re not familiar with the area. What’s really convenient is that you’re walking distance to Greenbelt and Glorietta if you need that mall fix, but you’re also close enough to the more local spots along Chino Roces if you want to venture beyond the expat bubble. The nearby Korean BBQ places are fantastic, by the way – just ask the front desk for recommendations, they know the neighborhood well. One small thing that caught me off guard was how quiet it gets at night considering you’re right in the heart of everything. I guess being up on the 28th floor helps, but still, I was expecting more city noise. If you’re the type who needs complete darkness to sleep, bring an eye mask though – the city lights are pretty spectacular but definitely bright.
