I’ll be honest, when I first heard about Makati Staycation by Marco – SMDC Lush, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a serviced apartment setup on Bagtikan Street. But you know what? This five-star property actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location puts you right in the thick of things without the chaos – you’re close enough to walk to Greenbelt and Glorietta when you want that mall life, but tucked away on a quieter street where you can actually get some sleep.

The SMDC Lush building itself has this modern residential feel that honestly beats most traditional hotels I’ve stayed at in Makati. What really got me was the space – I mean, you’re getting actual apartment-style accommodations with a proper kitchen and living area, which is a game-changer if you’re staying more than a couple nights or traveling with family. The units are well-appointed (better than I expected, really), and there’s something refreshing about having room to spread out instead of living out of a suitcase in a cramped hotel room. Marco’s team has clearly put thought into the details – good wifi that actually works, decent water pressure, and air conditioning that keeps up with Manila’s heat.

The building amenities are where this place really shines though. The pool area becomes this little oasis where you can escape the city madness, and I’ve spent more afternoons there than I care to admit. Security is tight but not annoying – they know the guests and there’s none of that bureaucratic hassle you sometimes get with condo-hotels. Parking can get interesting during peak times since it’s shared with other residents, but there’s usually space if you’re not rolling in at 9 PM on a Friday. What I really appreciate is how this feels like staying in someone’s well-maintained home rather than a generic hotel box. Sure, it might not have the lobby grandeur of the Peninsula down the road, but for the value and the authentic Manila living experience, it’s honestly hard to beat. The 7.9 rating makes sense – it’s not perfect, but it delivers on what matters most when you’re trying to experience the city like you actually live here.

  The place is ideal and a few minutes away from different establishment. The unit also has a PS4 which we rented then played at some time, it also has a nice view. The owner was responsive and they let us check in early.
  
  What could be improved: The smell of the bathroom but everything was good. You just need to open the bathroom for a while so that the scent will leave.

  Krasný nový bytový dům, dobrá dostupnost z letiště, skvělá komunikace s pronajímatelem.
  
  What could be improved: Na www.booking.com neuvedena přesná adresa, časové omezení bazénu a dodatečná platba za něj (150 pesos / osoba, ale muselo se hradit online). Také neuvedena kauce 1000 pesos. Vše by bylo v pořádku, kdyby bylo uvedeno dopředu. Ale evidentně pronajimatel teprve začíná a postupně informace doplní. Doporučujeme!
