Marty’s Turf at San Lorenzo Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Marty’s Turf at San Lorenzo? It’s tucked away in this residential tower on Chino Roces Avenue, and honestly, I almost walked right past it the first time. The thing is, once you’re inside Unit 14O on the 14th floor, it feels like you’ve stumbled into someone’s really well-appointed apartment rather than a typical hotel – and I mean that in the best possible way.
The whole setup is surprisingly intimate for a four-star place. There’s this genuine homey vibe that you just don’t get in those massive hotel chains scattered around Makati. The owner clearly put thought into every corner – I’m talking about actual books on the shelves, not just decorative spines, and artwork that looks like it was chosen by someone who actually lives there. The bed situation is fantastic too, with these crisp white linens that smell like they’ve been line-dried (though I’m pretty sure they weren’t, being on the 14th floor and all). What really sealed the deal for me was the kitchenette – not some sad mini-fridge and microwave combo, but an actual functional space where you could make a proper meal if you wanted to skip the restaurant scene for a night.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to appreciate: Chino Roces Avenue isn’t exactly where tourists usually end up, but that’s actually perfect if you want to see how locals live. There’s this fantastic hole-in-the-wall Filipino breakfast place about two blocks down that I never would have discovered staying in Greenbelt or somewhere obvious like that. The building itself is quiet – really quiet – which is sort of a miracle considering you’re still very much in the heart of everything. I mean, you can grab a taxi to BGC in about ten minutes, or walk to the nearest MRT station without breaking a sweat. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you factor in that the staff actually remembers your name after day one, and they’re genuinely helpful with local recommendations rather than just pointing you toward the tourist traps. My only tiny complaint? The elevator can be a bit slow during peak hours when residents are coming and going, but honestly, that’s pretty minor when everything else works so well. If you’re the type who’d rather feel like you’re staying with a friend who has excellent taste than camping out in some generic hotel lobby, this place gets it right.

Reviews of Marty’s Turf at San Lorenzo
Exceptional – Muck_savage from Ireland – February 11, 2025 (10/10)
Nice place. Fast WiFi. Simple and comphy. Smooth process from arrival to departure. 711 and Robinsons next door. Location was good for my needs. The cats outside the building all had tee shirts and hoodies and had their own community boxes etc at side of building which I thought was cool. Over all enjoyed my stay and no issues
What could be improved: There was no duvets or blankets etc for beds. Hope this could be sorted by owner in future.Exceptional – Ivana from United Kingdom – February 8, 2025 (10/10)
