Mella Hotel Overview

Mella Hotel sits in this quiet residential pocket of Las Piñas that honestly feels worlds away from the chaos you’d expect so close to Metro Manila. When I first pulled up to the place on C5 Extension, I’ll admit I was a bit surprised – it’s tucked into Barangay Pulang Lupa Uno where most of the surrounding buildings are houses and small local businesses, not hotels. But you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. The four-star property has this calm, almost residential vibe that makes it feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually hang out, rather than in some touristy bubble.

The rooms are honestly better than I expected for this part of Las Piñas. They’ve got that clean, modern Filipino hotel aesthetic down – nothing too fancy, but everything works and feels fresh. The air conditioning is solid (which matters more than you think in this humidity), and I actually appreciated that the windows aren’t just for show – you can crack them open if you want some air circulation. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven around Metro Manila will tell you is no small thing. The staff has this genuine friendliness that you get at smaller properties where they actually remember your name after day one.

What really sold me on this place, though, is the location itself. You’re close enough to the main roads that getting to Alabang or even BGC isn’t a complete nightmare, but far enough into the residential area that you’re not dealing with constant traffic noise at night. I mean, it’s still Metro Manila, so there’s always some background hum, but it’s manageable. There’s this little local market about a five-minute walk away where you can grab fresh fruit and actual home-cooked Filipino food – not the sanitized hotel restaurant version, but the real deal. The breakfast at the hotel is decent enough, but honestly, wandering out to try the local spots feels more authentic. For the price point and that 7.5 rating, Mella Hotel delivers exactly what it promises without trying to be something it’s not – which in a city full of places that overpromise and underdeliver, feels pretty refreshing.

The property was nice and clean

Staff were wonderful. Room was fine for what we paid and what we needed. Shower has shampoo and conditioner.

What could be improved: No taxi drivers knew of it by the new name! We ended up going via taxi to another hotel from the same group on the opposite side of town. Old signage is still on outdoor signage etc. Quite Convenient to airport if you go to the right one!
