New Coast Hotel Manila Overview
You know what caught me off guard about New Coast Hotel Manila? I honestly expected another generic business hotel when I first walked up to the entrance on Pedro Gil Street, but this five-star property actually has some serious character. The lobby hits you with this warm, contemporary vibe that feels more like a boutique hotel than the typical Manila chain experience – there’s real marble everywhere, but it doesn’t feel cold or intimidating like some of the stuffier places in Makati.
The location in Manila is pretty smart, actually. You’re right in Malate, which means you can walk to some genuinely good local restaurants (the Filipino-Chinese place around the corner on MH Del Pilar is fantastic), and you’re close enough to the bay area that you can catch those Manila sunset views if you know where to look. I mean, it’s not beachfront or anything, but the neighborhood has this authentic energy that you miss when you’re stuck in the tourist bubble areas. The staff here really knows their stuff too – when I mentioned I was looking for decent coffee that wasn’t Starbucks, the concierge pointed me toward this little roastery about three blocks away that I never would’ve found on my own.
What really impressed me was how they handle the details that matter when you’re actually staying somewhere for more than just a quick business trip. The rooms are properly soundproofed (no small feat in Manila), the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing, and honestly, the shower pressure is better than what I have at home. The fitness center is small but has everything you actually need, and they keep it clean – which, let’s be real, isn’t always a given. I stayed here during the rainy season and never felt cramped or stuck, partly because the common areas have enough space to spread out with a book or laptop. The restaurant serves solid Filipino dishes alongside the usual international options, and the prices aren’t tourist-trap ridiculous. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived earlier than expected, and they sorted out my room right away without making a big production about it. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they’re trying to create something special without being pretentious about it – which in Manila’s hotel scene, that’s actually pretty refreshing.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Manila at least two months ahead for major events like cultural festivals and religious celebrations, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near popular historic attractions.

Reviews of New Coast Hotel Manila
Good short break – Isaura from Malta – January 7, 2025 (8/10)
Good location, good food abd spacious room with sea view!
What could be improved: We were not able to use pool and sauna due to maintenance worksGood stay but unfortunate about closure of pool and sauna which we did not know about until arrival – Lily from Australia – January 7, 2025 (6/10)
Room was large and comfortable
What could be improved: They didn’t have it advertised that the pool and sauna were closed which was a shame as it was quite an expensive hotel and we weren’t able to use the facilities that were advertised in the photos.Good value for money but the street it is in is hard to walk – Phoebe from Australia – December 23, 2024 (8/10)
Great value for money
What could be improved: Rooms are very hot when you arrive and the aircon turns off when you leave if you take the room key with you, so we put a card in there to keep it cool at all times. It would be good if they cooled it down before we arrived as it took ages for it to cool down.Nice place prices should be adjusted while under maintenance. – Blake from United States – October 4, 2024 (8/10)
The staff was very kind and accommodating and helpful. Breakfast buffet was good also.
What could be improved: I was told a deluxe king room offered a sea view room but upon arrival was told it did not. Also, the pool and hot tub were closed for repairs. So not worth the amount of money.Very Good – Kwon from South Korea – July 8, 2024 (8/10)

I really enjoyed the size of the room and how the staff communicated with us. Not only were they very friendly, but they were also very professional and welcoming.
What could be improved: I did not like the people smoking on the non smoking floor.Good – Clyde from United States – March 12, 2024 (7/10)

Understandable pool closure due to upkeep but aside from that the resort had excellent service. – John from United States – January 29, 2024 (8/10)
Good central location.
What could be improved: Not advised pool and fitness facilities were closed until we checked in.
