Ascott Makati Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Manila’s business district, but Ascott Makati actually gets it right in ways that surprised me. When you walk into this five-star property, you’re not just getting another corporate hotel – you’re stepping into what feels like a really well-appointed apartment that happens to have concierge service. The location inside Glorietta 4 means you’re literally connected to one of Makati’s best shopping centers, which sounds touristy but honestly becomes incredibly practical when you realize you can grab everything from late-night snacks to business shirts without stepping outside into Manila’s unpredictable weather.
What struck me most was how they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm above all the Ayala Centre chaos. The serviced apartments – because that’s really what these are – have full kitchens that actually work, not those sad little kitchenettes you usually get. I mean, the fridge is big enough for real groceries, and the washer-dryer setup saved me from hunting down a laundromat in Greenbelt. The living spaces feel generous too, with windows that give you proper city views without the noise you’d expect from being right in the heart of everything. You know what really impressed me? The internet actually works at the speeds they promise, which anyone who’s tried to video conference from a Manila hotel will appreciate.
The staff here operates more like a really good building management team than typical hotel workers – they remember your name, know your preferences after a couple days, and can sort out everything from restaurant reservations to car service without that overly formal hospitality dance. Being connected to the Ayala Centre ecosystem means you’re walking distance to the MRT, about fifty decent restaurants, and some of the city’s better bars, but you can also just order room service and disappear into your apartment-style suite when Manila gets overwhelming. It’s pricier than a regular hotel, sure, but when you factor in the kitchen facilities, the extra space, and not having to navigate traffic every time you need something basic, it actually makes financial sense for stays longer than a few nights. Plus, the building’s security is tight – important in this part of the city – and the housekeeping manages to be thorough without being intrusive.

The daily breakfast is nice but I would like to suggest changing more items on the menu on a daily basis for those guest who stay longer than 1 or 2 days. The location is ideal being connected to Glorieta, SM etc is ideal for people wanting to shop and eat at various restaurants. The rooms I enjoy very much. Very clean and comfortable.

I have stayed in this property few times, the staff are all amazing ( consistently) they are always ready to help and always happy, from the all Security staff to the Reception desk specially Aldy who assisted us during check in and check out.
The room is clean and well maintained
The location is perfect.
I want to give extra thank you for assisting me with my Auntie – they provided a wheelchair for her to use until we checked out and all staff are always ready to assist us.
Also I have left my bag with valuables ( as I kept it inside a drawer, so I forgot 🙁 ) they have contacted me about it and safely handed back to me…
And thank you for the birthday surprise for me Mom 🙂
Well done to the Management for having an amazing team. Well done!!
