Newport’s STAR at Montecito Residential Resort Overview
Look, I’ll be honest with you – when I first heard about Newport’s STAR at Montecito Residential Resort, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name’s a bit of a mouthful, and honestly, the location in Pasay threw me off initially. But you know what? Sometimes the places that surprise you end up being the ones you remember most.
This four-star property sits right on Resort Drive, and here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re actually positioned perfectly between the chaos of Manila and the airport convenience. I mean, if you’re someone who needs to catch early flights or you’re doing business in the Bay Area, this location is actually pretty clever. The resort feels surprisingly removed from the typical Pasay hustle once you’re inside the gates. There’s this almost residential calm to it (hence the name, I guess), where you can actually hear yourself think. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that’s hard to fake – not overly fancy, but everything works the way it should. I particularly appreciated that the air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine, which honestly can’t be said for every place around here.
What really got me was how the staff seems to genuinely know the area. When I asked about getting around, they didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – they actually explained which jeepney routes make sense and when traffic gets impossible on certain streets. The pool area becomes this little oasis in the evenings, and you’ll often find a mix of business travelers and families just decompressing. It’s not party-central, which some people might find boring, but if you want to actually relax after dealing with Manila’s intensity, that’s exactly what you need. The restaurant serves decent Filipino comfort food alongside international options, though I’d recommend venturing out to the local spots they’ll point you toward – there are some hidden gems within walking distance that most tourists never find. With an 8.5 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in the city, but sometimes what you really want is a place that just… works.

Reviews of Newport’s STAR at Montecito Residential Resort
Comfortable and clean. – Tiffani from Japan – August 19, 2025 (9/10)
The place was clean. Unlike other BNB’s we stayed in around the area, we did not see cockroaches. It’s also near NAIA 3 which was the main we booked the place. The owner was also very accommodating. The housekeeper was also very polite and quick.
What could be improved: The place was a bit smaller than expected because there was supposed to be 7 of us but 2 cancelled so it was fine. Not all the beds were prepared when we got there but after I called the owner, the housekeeper was there in a few minutes to prepare everything.
We couldn’t lock the balcony door and there were spaces between the wall and the window sill which in my opinion makes it a bit harder to keep the room cool. Plus the possibility of insects coming in.Exceptional – Vicente from Philippines – July 19, 2025 (10/10)
Spacious good for family and friends. The owner is very accommodating and she reply fast😁
Perfect location for family – we will be back. – Raymundo from United Kingdom – April 22, 2025 (10/10)
The equipment and facilities are good. The place is clean too. We did NOT encounter any cockroaches or any crawling/flying insects. Air-con is very good.
What could be improved: Nothing we can think of.Exceptional – Yani from Philippines – April 5, 2025 (10/10)
We had a very pleasant stay as if we're just at the comfort of our homes. The unit owner is very kind and always checks if we're encountering any problem. She even gave us free rice grains..😅 So thoughtful. The location is fantastic as it is just beside the venue of our convention. We will surely choose her place again in the future.
Exceptional – Deson from United States – March 6, 2025 (10/10)
Great location, 10 minute protected walk from the airport. Very friendly and responsive host and housekeeper. Aircon works well. Has pool access.
What could be improved: Might have liked another blanket on the additional bed (only had a sheet), though I'm sure we could have gotten one if we'd asked. Otherwise great place!Host super nice! Perfect location and affordable! – Marion from South Korea – February 2, 2025 (9/10)
Great location, super convenient and safe to walk to the airport and there is a nice mall very nearby for dinner!
What could be improved: Aircon noisy and outdoor noisy (some works in the night?)Our stay is definitely good. The caretaker is very helpful and approachable even the unit owner. Our overall stay is nic – Danna from Canada – January 30, 2025 (8/10)
Unit has a good location. Near the restaurants, convenience store and the airport.
What could be improved: Very strict with the check in time and out and they do charge 400/hr if you request for early check in but totally understandable.Exceptional – Kris from United States – December 15, 2024 (10/10)
