It’s actually tucked inside this sleek residential complex that feels more like you’re staying at a friend’s upscale condo than a traditional hotel. I mean, when you first walk into the Acqua Residences building, you’re greeted by this impressive lobby with floor-to-ceiling windows that honestly made me do a double-take – it’s way more sophisticated than I expected for the price point.

The four-star setup here is interesting because it’s essentially serviced apartments, which means you get a proper kitchen (and I actually used it, unlike most hotel kitchenettes that just sit there looking pretty). The unit I stayed in – somewhere around the 27th floor – had these massive windows overlooking Manila that really show off the city’s wild mix of gleaming towers and sprawling neighborhoods. What I loved was how quiet it was up there, especially considering you’re right in the thick of things. The Malate area can get pretty hectic, but once you’re inside, it’s surprisingly peaceful.

Honestly, the amenities are where this place really shines – there’s this gorgeous infinity pool on one of the upper floors that I practically lived at during my stay. The gym is actually well-equipped too, not just a couple of sad treadmills like some places. But here’s what really sold me: the staff genuinely seems to care. When I had trouble with the WiFi (which was otherwise pretty solid), they didn’t just give me the standard “we’ll look into it” – someone actually came up and sorted it out within twenty minutes. The building’s location puts you walking distance from some fantastic local spots along Roxas Boulevard, and you’re close enough to Rizal Park and the old Manila charm without being stuck in the tourist bubble. I’d definitely come back, especially since the rates are reasonable for what you’re getting – it feels like you’re getting away with something, staying somewhere this nice without the typical hotel markup.
