Oakwood Makati Avenue Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Oakwood Makati Avenue, I wasn’t expecting to be as impressed as I was. You know how it is with serviced apartments, they can feel sort of sterile and corporate, but this place actually has some personality to it. The lobby’s got this warm, residential vibe that immediately tells you this isn’t your typical hotel experience, and the staff genuinely seemed to remember guests’ names after a day or two.

What really struck me about this five-star property is how it manages to feel both luxurious and livable at the same time. The suites – and they’re all suites here – are spacious enough that you could actually spread out and work comfortably for weeks without going stir-crazy. I mean, the kitchenettes aren’t just for show either; they’ve got proper appliances and enough counter space that you could cook a real meal if you wanted to skip the restaurant scene in Makati for a night. The beds are fantastic too – none of that rock-hard mattress nonsense you sometimes get in business hotels. The bathrooms have these deep soaking tubs that I honestly used more than I care to admit, especially after long days walking around the city.

Location-wise, you’re really well positioned here on Makati Avenue. It’s not right in the thick of the Ayala Center chaos, which I actually preferred – you can walk to all the major malls and business districts in about ten minutes, but you don’t have to deal with the constant traffic noise that comes with being directly on Ayala Avenue. There’s a 7-Eleven literally next door (trust me, you’ll appreciate this), and some solid local restaurants within a block or two that the concierge pointed me toward. The rooftop pool area is where this place really shines though – great views of the Makati skyline, and it’s surprisingly quiet up there even during rush hour. I spent quite a few evenings up there with a beer just watching the city lights come on. One small thing that bugged me initially was that the gym gets pretty crowded around 6 AM and 7 PM when all the business travelers are trying to squeeze in their workouts, but honestly, that’s a minor complaint. The housekeeping is thorough without being intrusive, and they stock the kitchen with basics which saves you from having to hunt down salt and coffee filters on your first day.
