The moment you step onto that rooftop terrace, you suddenly get why this whole Don Pedro area has become such a hotspot. I mean, you’re literally looking out over the Makati skyline while being smack in the middle of what locals call the new party district – but somehow the noise from the bars below doesn’t really reach you up there.

The suite itself is honestly more spacious than I expected, especially considering you’re in one of Manila’s priciest neighborhoods. The owner clearly put thought into the layout – there’s this nice separation between the living area and bedroom that makes it feel less like a typical Airbnb and more like, well, an actual penthouse. The kitchen‘s compact but functional (I made coffee there every morning), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showers that actually works properly, which isn’t always a given in this part of town. What really sells it though is that private rooftop – it’s got proper seating, some greenery, and during sunset the whole space just transforms. I spent way too many evenings up there with a San Miguel, watching the city light up.

Location-wise, you’re maybe a three-minute walk from all the Poblacion action – Z Hostel, Crying Tiger, all those craft cocktail spots that have put this neighborhood on the map. But here’s the thing locals know: if you walk just two blocks toward Makati Avenue, you hit the more practical stuff like 7-Eleven, proper restaurants, and easier Grab pickup spots. The four-star rating feels about right – it’s definitely a step up from your average Manila accommodation, though don’t expect hotel-level service since it’s more of a private rental situation. Parking can be tricky (street parking only), and the building’s entrance is a bit understated, so first-time visitors sometimes walk right past it. Honestly though, for the price point and that rooftop alone, it’s become my go-to recommendation when friends visit Manila and want to experience Poblacion without dealing with the typical hostel scene. Just book early – this place fills up fast, especially during the cooler months when that outdoor space becomes absolutely perfect.

  Se cerchi un alloggio spazioso e confortevole nel cuore pulsante di Makati, il Poblacion Penthouse Suite è un’opzione eccellente e, per di più, offre un’ampiezza difficile da trovare a questo prezzo. Situata in una delle zone più vibranti della città, l’unità è circondata da un’ampia scelta di ristoranti, street food, locali notturni e discoteche, inclusa la famosa discoteca Royal, perfetta per chi cerca divertimento o una serata in compagnia.
  
  Ho soggiornato in questo appartamento dal 29 al 30 ottobre 2024 e posso dire che è arredato in modo da offrire tutti i comfort necessari per un soggiorno rilassante. All’ingresso, un ampio salotto con cucina a vista accoglie gli ospiti; è dotato di un comodo sofà, una Smart TV Sony, un tavolo da pranzo e una macchina Nespresso – ricordate di portare le vostre cialde, poiché non sono fornite. La stanza da letto è confortevole, mentre il bagno principale è ampio e ben accessoriato. È presente anche un secondo bagno, oltre a una maid room che si rivela utile come spazio extra. L’aria condizionata è efficiente e mantiene gli ambienti principali freschi, un vero sollievo nel clima di Makati.
  
  Un punto forte è il balcone con scala interna che conduce a un terrazzo privato, sebbene quest’ultimo sembri un po’ trascurato, probabilmente a causa delle recenti piogge stagionali.
  
  Nel complesso, consiglio vivamente questa suite a chiunque cerchi un appartamento grande e funzionale per un weekend di svago a Poblacion, Makati, dove spazi ampi e una location vivace si combinano per un soggiorno memorabile.
  
  What could be improved: Un aspetto da migliorare è il segnale Wi-Fi. Mentre funziona bene per navigazione e messaggi, nella zona della scrivania e in alcune altre aree, è debole, rendendo difficile svolgere attività più complesse come streaming e download. Si può risolvere facilmente aggiungendo un estensione del segnale nella camera da letto.

  It is a big (huge by Manila standards), beautiful apartment close to lots of restaurants. Also close to malls, clubs and gogo bars if you’re into those.

  What could be improved: Sarebbe utile mettere a disposizione più asciugamani e del bagnoschiuma. E liquidi per lavatrice.
  Purtroppo nei week end i rumori dei pub e locali vicini si fanno sentire anche al sesto piano.
