Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a hotel right in the heart of Binondo. But you know what? This four-star place completely surprised me in the best way possible.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you think about it. You’re literally on Ongpin Street, which means you’re in the thick of Manila’s Chinatown – and I mean the real deal, not some tourist version. I could smell the pork buns from Eng Bee Tin bakery from my room window (well, almost), and honestly, being able to walk out and grab authentic dim sum for breakfast instead of overpriced hotel food was a game-changer. The intersection with Quintin Paredes puts you right where all the action is, but here’s the thing – the hotel itself feels like a calm bubble once you step inside. The rooms are surprisingly quiet considering you’re surrounded by all that street energy, though you’ll definitely hear the occasional jeepney horn if you’re a light sleeper.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about where to find the best hopia, the front desk guy didn’t just point me to the closest shop – he told me about this tiny place three blocks over that his grandmother swears by. That kind of local insight isn’t something you get at every hotel. The building itself has this clean, modern feel that somehow doesn’t clash with the historic chaos happening right outside your door. I mean, you’re staying in one of Manila’s oldest districts, but your room has all the contemporary touches you’d want – decent Wi-Fi, air conditioning that actually works (crucial in that humidity), and bathrooms that feel properly updated. The 8.3 rating makes sense once you’re there; it’s not trying to be flashy, but everything just… works. Check-in was smooth, the elevators didn’t take forever, and housekeeping actually paid attention to details. Plus, if you’re someone who likes to explore on foot, you’re perfectly positioned to wander through the narrow streets and discover those hole-in-the-wall restaurants that locals line up for. Just be ready for the sensory overload – Binondo doesn’t do subtle, and honestly, that’s exactly why staying here feels like you’re experiencing the real Manila instead of hiding from it.

Reviews of Ramada by Wyndham Manila Central

  • Very Good – Corinne from Philippines – August 2, 2025 (8/10)

Room is ok. Bathroom is senior friendly.
    Staff are accommodating.

What could be improved: Linens look old.

  • Good – James from United Kingdom – July 8, 2025 (7/10)

Very good room and good breakfast. In terms of tourist activities nearby, the hotel is in a good location close to Chinatown and also Intramuros – both within walking distance. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and accommodating.

What could be improved: The fitness centre is pretty tired, with a number of flies. Surprised that the reception does not have plug adaptors readily to hand.

  • Excellent stay – Shane from Malaysia – June 26, 2025 (8/10)

Location wise and value for money. Friendly staff and top notch hotel services. Hotel bfast is good and friendly service.

What could be improved: Waited for 30mins for the check-in although came at check in time. We have 3 person for the room but the hotel amenities need to inform 2 times only arrive. The bfast doesn't have many varieties and the lack of Chinese type of food for a hotel in Chinatown.

  • Wonderful – Lane from New Zealand – April 30, 2025 (9/10)

Great location, close to Chinatown right by the hustle and bustle of the city. We arrived before check in time which was a common theme for us travelling. You have to check out from one hotel and go to the next. As you are on holiday you are very dependent on your driver, and hotels accommodating a waiting area, you can't stand on the street in 36 degrees with your suitcases. The hotel grabbed our luggage, and allowed us to sit in the lounge bar area and provided us with a welcome drink. Edward, Jeff, Dein and Jessa were outstanding, very friendly, helpful and lots of smiles and happy faces which is very important when dealing with the public. Reception ladies were great too but we did not see a lot of them.

What could be improved: Was a great overall stay.

  • Wonderful – Ehud from Israel – January 20, 2025 (9/10)

Location in Chinatown but not easy to walk around
    Helpful stuff

What could be improved: Breakfast was not good

  • Highly recommended if you want to explore old twin Manila – Alvin from Italy – October 20, 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location. In the heart of Chinatown where there is a variety of restaurants that serve good food. Outstanding breakfast buffet. Staff is courteous and very polite

    What could be improved: None

  • Wonderful – Jet from Australia – September 16, 2024 (9/10)

    Close to the markets

What could be improved: Very busy traffic

  • Was great except for the Friday night – Daryl from Australia – August 10, 2024 (8/10)

    Staff were fantastic

What could be improved: Carpet in foyer on level 6 needs to be replaced past its use by date .
Had a function on the Friday night and restaurant wasn’t open but didn’t tell patrons it was closed due to function. You need to cater for people who are gluten free celiac

  • Wonderful – Petros from Cyprus – August 9, 2024 (9/10)

The hotel staff was very polite and helpful, the room was very clean and everything was nice.

What could be improved: The main disadvantage of the hotel is the location in China Town, which is extremely crowded and very very busy.

  • Wonderful – Joy from Qatar – July 15, 2024 (9/10)

It's my second time staying. As always I value my stay due to proximity to everything, value for money, accessible to public transportation and the hotel staff were all welcoming, accomodating and friendly. Special mention to Marvin, Jeff, Edward, Jessa, Angel, Cuenca and Gallo.

What could be improved: During our stay the hotel had internet issues. But I guess it was just an unfortunate timing.
