Somerset Millennium Makati Overview
When I first walked into Somerset Millennium Makati, I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another serviced apartment building from the outside. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” but still feels properly upscale for a four-star property. The staff at check-in were genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions like you sometimes get at bigger chain hotels.
What really won me over was the location – and I mean the real nitty-gritty of it, not just the usual “prime spot” nonsense you read everywhere. Being right on Aguirre Street in Legaspi Village means you’re actually in one of Makati’s quieter pockets, which is gold if you’ve ever tried to sleep through the chaos of the main commercial strips. You can walk to Greenbelt in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re far enough away that you don’t get the constant traffic noise that keeps you up at night. The Saturday morning market at Legazpi Park is literally around the corner – perfect if you want to grab some fresh fruit or just people-watch with a coffee.
The rooms themselves feel more like proper apartments than hotel rooms, which makes sense since it’s technically a serviced residence. I had a one-bedroom unit, and honestly, the kitchen was better equipped than my actual apartment back home. The washing machine was a lifesaver for a longer stay, and there’s something oddly satisfying about having a full-sized fridge instead of those tiny hotel minibars. The beds are properly comfortable – not too soft, not too firm – and the air conditioning actually works efficiently, which you definitely appreciate in Manila’s heat. One small thing that bugged me was the shower pressure, which was decent but not amazing, though I suppose that’s pretty typical for this area. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, which matters when you’re trying to get work done or just binge-watch something after a long day of exploring the city. What I really appreciated was how quiet everything stayed, even on weekends – the building seems well-insulated, and you get a sense that most guests are business travelers or longer-term residents who aren’t throwing parties every night.

What could be improved: Shower is a over the bath which was fairly high to step in & out of – this is personal as I have a bad knee so it wasn’t ideal but was fine overallA centrally located older but well maintained apartel-style hotel – Mark from Hong Kong – January 27, 2025 (8/10)
This is a centrally located apartel-style hotel in the Makati business district near the Greenbelt mall, a nice park area (Legazpi park), and a number of top restaurants. There is also a convenience store next door and a nice coffee shop/cafe just a couple of doors down. Although an older hotel, it is well maintained. The room is of good size and there is a small kitchenette. It is tastefully furnished with a nice view. The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. There is a large gym with a comfortable library style sitting area next to it.
What could be improved: As mentioned this is an older hotel but it has generally been kept up well. An exception was the shower which could not be adjusted, so the stream was far too strong. The pool is smallish but big enough to swim it but gets little sun as it is lodged in between the hotel and another highrise building. These are relatively minor issues but given the price is about the same as newer hotels (even the Somerset Salcedo in another nice part of Makati), it is a little expensive for what it is.Very Good – Mary from Australia – January 24, 2025 (8/10)
Breakfast was not good. There is no quality in the food they serve. I should have booked without breakfast.
What could be improved: The location is not good.Wonderful – Erikson from Philippines – January 15, 2025 (9/10)
Clean and spacious.
What could be improved: Poor wifi speed (10-20mbps)
