After staying there, it actually makes sense – this four-star place really is positioned right in the heart of everything that matters in this part of Manila.

The thing that hit me right away was how quiet it gets once you’re inside, which is pretty impressive considering you’re literally next to one of the busiest shopping areas in the metro. I mean, Greenhills is always buzzing with people hunting for deals at the tiangge or grabbing late dinners, but somehow the Fame Residences tower blocks most of that street noise. The lobby feels more like a high-end condo building than a typical hotel – which makes sense since it’s part of a residential complex. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the staff actually remembered my name the next morning, something that doesn’t happen often in Manila hotels.

What really sold me on this place was the location intelligence, if that makes sense. You’re a quick walk to Greenhills Shopping Center (perfect for pearls and gadgets), but you can also hop on the MRT without dealing with the usual chaos of commuting from farther out. I actually ended up using the train more than Grab during my stay, which saved me a fortune and a lot of traffic headaches. The rooms themselves are spacious – not just Manila spacious, but actually spacious. The bed was firm in that good way, and the air conditioning works like it means business, which honestly is half the battle in this climate. My room had this decent city view, nothing spectacular, but I could see the Ortigas skyline in the distance which was nice enough. The bathroom was clean and modern, though the water pressure was a bit inconsistent – not a dealbreaker, but worth mentioning. What impressed me most was how the housekeeping staff managed to make everything feel fresh without that overwhelming chemical smell some hotels seem to love. The mini-fridge actually kept things cold, and there were enough outlets for all my devices without having to choose between charging my phone and using the bedside lamp. With a 9.5 rating, I can see why people keep coming back here – it’s one of those places that gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to be fancy.

Hotel in Manila booking should be done early, especially during festival season when the city hosts internationally celebrated cultural events and street parades at historic venues.
