Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places in Manila, but Wenie Getaway honestly caught me off guard in the best way possible. Tucked inside the SMDC Coast Residence complex in Pasay, this four-star spot feels like someone’s stylish apartment rather than your typical hotel – and I mean that as the highest compliment. The moment you walk in, there’s this calm, residential vibe that’s such a relief after dealing with Manila’s intensity. The staff actually remembers your name after day one, which sounds small but makes a huge difference when you’re trying to feel human after long flights or business meetings.

What really sets this place apart is how they’ve nailed the details without making a big show of it. The rooms are spacious by Manila standards – I could actually open my suitcase without performing gymnastics – and everything feels thoughtfully designed rather than just thrown together. The beds are properly comfortable (you know how hit-or-miss hotel beds can be), and the bathrooms have this nice, clean aesthetic with water pressure that doesn’t quit halfway through your shower. I particularly loved the kitchen setup; having a proper fridge and microwave meant I could grab fresh fruit from the markets instead of surviving on room service. The Wi-Fi actually works consistently too, which honestly shouldn’t be remarkable in 2024 but somehow still is.

The location is pretty brilliant if you know Pasay at all. You’re close enough to catch flights without the 3 AM panic drive, but far enough from the airport chaos that you can sleep without planes rumbling overhead. There’s a 7-Eleven practically next door for those late-night snack runs, and the mall of Asia is close by if you need to kill time or grab dinner. I found myself walking to different restaurants each night – there’s this great seafood place about ten minutes away that locals actually go to, not just tourists. The building itself has decent security, which matters when you’re carrying work equipment or just want to feel safe coming back late. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, though Manila traffic rules still apply, so plan accordingly. With a 9.9 rating, you’d expect perfection, and while I wouldn’t say it’s flawless, it comes pretty close to what most travelers actually need: comfort, reliability, and that rare feeling that someone cares about your experience.

  Perfect place for 2 persons with all necessary comfort. The owner is very communicable and gives perfect information about your stay and possible questions. Everything in the condo is well labeled so you know what to do and how to use appliances.

  My stay at Wenie was perfect. It had everything you could possibly need. Near the airport if staying in Manila to catch another flight. Also, a short taxi ride to visit Intramuros. So location is really good. It’s an apartment with full equipped kitchen, comfortable double bed and spotless clean. I loved coming back from walking and chill there. It also has a pool. You need to arrange in advance to get access. I didn’t but I contacted Wenie and she arranged straight away. She was always checking on me for my check in as I arrived in Manila very very late. Very communicative and friendly. If I am back in Manila, I will definitely book here again. Thank you Wenie!

The staff is incredibly kind and helpful, always ready to assist and answer my questions with a smile. The value for money is unbeatable, definitely one of the best options in Manila.   The location is near our event venue. The host is accommodating and kind enough to check on us during our stay. We didn't have issues at all during our check-in. The host made sure that everything was smooth and worry less.
