Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Wowstaycation, I rolled my eyes a little. It sounds like something a marketing team came up with after too much coffee, you know? But actually walking into this place on Macapagal Avenue completely changed my tune. This five-star property sits right in the Shore 1 Residences complex, and the moment those elevator doors opened to the lobby, I got it. The floor-to-ceiling windows frame this incredible view of Manila Bay that honestly made me stop mid-conversation with the front desk staff.

What really struck me about staying here is how they’ve managed to feel both luxurious and livable at the same time. The suites – and they’re all suites, which is pretty sweet – have these massive balconies where you can actually hear the water lapping against the seawall below. I mean, you’re still in Manila, so there’s city noise, but it’s more of a gentle urban hum than the usual traffic chaos you’d expect. The kitchen setup is legit too, not just some mini-fridge situation – I’m talking full-size appliances, which makes sense given the whole “staycation” concept. You could genuinely live here for weeks and feel at home, especially with that grocery run to SM Mall of Asia just a quick walk away.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the staff seems to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about good local spots for breakfast (because hotel breakfast gets old, let’s be real), they pointed me toward this little place on Roxas Boulevard that serves killer longsilog, not just the obvious touristy options. The pool area gets busy during weekend afternoons with families, but early mornings? It’s practically yours, and you can watch the bay wake up while you swim. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which anyone who’s driven around this part of the metro will tell you is no small feat. The whole Macapagal strip can be a nightmare during rush hour, but being tucked into the residences complex keeps you slightly removed from the worst of it. I’d definitely come back – the combination of that water view, the space to spread out, and being walking distance to MOA without the crowds makes it feel like you found something special that not everyone knows about yet.
